  1. Yep, agree. He believed whoever told him that he was too good for the likes of Kell Brook, and totally wasted time waiting for fight with Mayweather which Mayweather clearly wasn't interested in giving him. Badly advised would be my guess.
  2. There has been some talk of boxer Vs UFC. McGregor was trying to tempt a fight with Mayweather, which I can't see Floyd ever going for. But Amir Khan has shown some interest. Interestingly, the McGregor Vs Diaz fight (won by McGregor) was won with punches. Diaz is the much better ground fighter, so when McGregor got him down he stood back and let him up (about 3 times) because he knew if he got down there with him he'd have been in trouble. He is an accurate striker though. But yeah, I prefer boxing in several ways.
  3. I know it's not boxing, but do any of you guys like UFC stuff? For years I thought it was a load of rubbish, because what I had seen of it seemed to involve so much of the grappling on the mat / ground & pound stuff that it just did nothing for me. But in the past year or so I've started watching some of their big matches, and I think I'm becoming a convert. The fight between Ireland's Connor McGregor (total prick) and America's Nate Diaz (also a prick) last weekend was really really entertaining and hard fought. Worth a watch if you're interested in dipping your toe in.
  4. I've often spent time looking for glasses that are on my face.
  5. And here is Heidi Alexander. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2016/aug/19/heidi-alexander-corbyn-resign-shadow-cabinet Now SHE is exactly the sort of Labour MP I want to see, and Jezza's lot probably want her deselected.
  6. Sorry if this has already been posted, it's from 18th July, but I only saw it yesterday. For anyone still supporting Jezza I beg you to read this. This woman did her very best to support him, and she was clearly passionate about her work. Then he just screwed her over and totally failed her. It's not about his politics, it's about the fact he's an incompetent nitwit. http://www.newstatesman.com/politics/staggers/2016/07/lilian-greenwood-mp-jeremy-corbyn-continually-undermined-me-job-i-loved

When we last moved out of a rented place a coule of years back the landlords tried keeping most of our deposit. It was clear they hadn't put it in a DPS, so we just played it very polite and responded to every message with something like "Okay, please provide us with the DPS details and we can agree how much of the deposit is returned via the scheme". When they realized that we wouldn't stray from that line, they suddenly decided to give us the whole deposit back because they knew we'd slaughter them if we challenged them and they hadn't put it in a DPS.
  8. The timings have been a bugger, but I'v enjoyed plenty of stuff this Olympics. I love the Olympics, far better than any other sporting event.
  9. Well I've remembered to do mine. That'll probably be about the last time!

    Quiet room...

But regarding anything said on this thread, seriously grow a backbone! I don't like to make everything about class, but as much as rah gets wound u[ by it being mentioned (in this case Lou did kind of jump on the back of my post a bit), I get wound up by people becoming defensive and dismissing every suggestion that people who are a bit better off in life may sometimes sneer at those that aren't. It happens, I've witnessed it throughout my life, both as the recipient and as an observer. Aaaaaanyway, a party was had, everyone is still alive, and the music has now stopped. Happy ending.

  13. Must be really tough being the victims of such snobbery. I feel terrible.

Unless they combined the CL with the Europa, and had a bigger league section at the start before knockout stages. I do think it would be good to just have one European cup.
  15. You seem to be a bit preoccupied with death today.
  16. All fair points of course. I can always rely on the EDF to reign me in when I indulge in a little bit of class stereotyping.
  17. Will have to be cold turkey then, because I am literally splitting my sides with this cough.

They've been talking about a Euro League for at least 20 years. I can't see it happening.
  19. I disagree that a curry can't be reheated. I often enjoy curry more the next day when it's been sitting overnight. I think the meat has more time to absorb the flavor.
  20. Never said they look down on people living in the estate, I said they don't think about the estate. And I put "middle class" in inverted commas to show that I was using it as a lazy term as it was quicker than typing "people that can afford the Victorian houses on the next street and arrange street parties". But now I've had to type that anyway. And yes rahrahrah, you're right, class makes no difference when it comes to being a noisy arsehole. But I guess the point I was really making, and I stand by it, is that people with more money don't tend to really consider people below them on the social ladder. That is obviously not the case for everybody, but it's more common than you may cre to admit.
  21. I wasn't born until the late 70s, but I still say one of the best things to come out of the decade (other than me, obvs) was the sound created by Black Sabbath.
  22. I suggest you two just ignore each other for a bit, because this is getting slightly personal, and Loz you're not covering yourself in glory as JoeLeg points out (and more often than not I'm a fan of yours).

  24. I certainly don't think people should be vaping indoors. But I have been considering giving it a go recently, as I am fed up with coughing for days after a trip to the pub (the only time I really smoke fags these days).
  25. I'm sure all the neighbours on the street were invited, maybe even people in the houses around the corner. They sure as hell weren't gonna invite the estate! Jeremy, not late, but later than 10pm which seems to be the unwritten "turn it down" time in the flats. And seriously, the live music open air was really loud. Wouldn't mind, but it was the worst kind of bad covers band playing Mustang Sally badly.
