  1. On another note, if Blair was at all worried, do you think he'd have been so visible lately? I've seen more of him in the past month than I had in the last 8 years.
  2. Regarding the "no plan" issue, I was gobsmacked to hear a woman on the radio this morning that had gone over to Iraq in the aftermath of the war to volunteer. She got to Baghdad and was told they had enough people there, and to keep moving North. She kept going until eventually she reached a place and was told "you're the most senior civilian here, you're now in charge of this province". John Humphrys (experienced war correspondent) seemed genuinely shocked, saying he'd never heard of the like in his life.

    No worries, and fair enough.
  4. Loz Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > When Charlotte Church was raking in money hand > over fist, she was a complete Tory. Was she? (not saying she wasn't, just genuinely interested, because she sys she and her family have always been Labour though and through, would be a bit silly if there was proof out there that she was tory at some point).

  6. But what percentage agreed to strike once the strike was called? Judging by the number of schools closed today I'd guess it was pretty high.
  7. Not only defeat Lou, some people (well one specific one) finds it absolutely impossible to admit that they are wrong about anything.
  8. I'm with Rendel on this one. I never quite understand the special level of ire reserved for teachers striking compared to other professions (even doctors). I think a large part of it is just that people have a sense of entitlement and school is free childcare which has no business being disrupted. A strike that causes no disruption is not worth doing. The point is to cause disruption because that is the only way to be heard.
  9. Who is Nora Batty, Theresa May?
  10. Haha

As you rightly say, it's a matter of individual's take on things. I don't think it was remotely funny, and would be surprised if anyone did. But I'm just not getting the sinister / disturbing thing. I suspect it was a pissed up "joke" that hasn't gone down very well.
  12. I think his goal is actually to turn the whole country in to The Last of the Summer Wine, and he hasn't achieved that, thank God.

Why are we talking about leering? We don't know if the OP has leered at anyone, only that he'd "noticed" attractive women in the area. Or is any looking at someone of the opposite sex now classed as leering? God this forum has started taking itself just way too seriously. This is the lounge, it's always been a place for nonsense, and this thread is no worse than tons of others. But the responses have changed over the years.

On a public forum. It's just a real pet hate of mine when people pick at a person's spelling or grammar in order to try to dismiss what they are actually saying. And you seem a decent person, so just play the ball not the man as the saying goes :-)

What doesn't make sense about them? Because you disagree with her doesn't mean her comments make no sense, they seem pretty straight forward.

Right there is where you lost the crowd and came over like an arse.

Fair enough, so put me right, explain what working/middle class means today. Oh and your post before that one was a spot on description of what's happening with Labour.
  23. Middle class / working class IT DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go on, someone define working class in 2016 for me. And then do middle class in 2016. Oh, and this ???? The lounge clearly the wrong place for this thread. May I suggest you post it in Family Room Discussion. They'd love a thread like this I reckon.
