God I need to watch this again.

Another 90s film I was reminded of this week (by the Stanford rape case) was Higher Learning (it's not all about college rape, but that's part of it. Not sure how it's aged, but really liked it "back in the day"

Grosse Pointe Blank is a cracking film by the way. Have you ever seen True Romance? That's an all time favourite.

LondonMix you have good taste in movies. Fans of Spinal Tap should try A mighty wind.
  6. By the way, did everyone see this? It's wonderfully painful to watch. Damn those EU safety regulations! https://m.reddit.com/r/videos/comments/316fzv/man_tries_to_burn_eu_flag_which_wont_burn_due_to/
  7. What makes me chuckle is the thought that lots of the more oikish outers who just don't like immigrants, are probably thinking more of the ones that aren't from Europe anyway. If we do leave I suspect they'll get a bit of a nasty surprise.

His first go was fine, and the first time he did the immigrant family thing was funny (and got a good response), but after that he made a fool of himself. Sad because he's intelligent and could have used his time to be positive.
  9. Yuck, I'd not heard "bremain" before. I'd like to punch whoever came up with "brexit". In. Because despite it's faults (which are plentiful) I think we're safer in. And things like workers rights get protection.
  10. Yeah this new place does all look at bit Dartford doesn't it.
  11. Ice cream steveo. The shit stuff thar comes out of the machine in the ice cream van.

I dare say a summer international football tournament will bring in a lot more drinkers than a quiet oasis. Although I can see your point.
  13. Yeah I've had some good times there, but the service was enough to put me off, and I never understood why people loved the place at all.
  14. Sorry if I've said this before, I've been meaning to, but can't remember if I posted. Thing that has been irking me is this whole "loss of our British identity" load of bollocks. What with Jubilees, weddings, Olympics, Queen's birthdays and whatever else, I feel like I've never seen so much flag waving as I have in the last few years. I don't even know what British identity is. And if it's the identity of the people that go on about losing it, then I don't want that identity thanks.

I'd hate to be a Saints fan though, they are the ultimate selling club, just think of the players they've let go in the last few years, as well as 2 managers.

I agree with Mick. Everton have history, but at the moment it's a side step at best.

Koeman to Everton. What the hell is wrong with Southampton, do they not want success? I know it would be hard to keep him if a champs league club had come in, but letting him go to Everton is shocking.
  20. There are plenty of far left "leavers". They're just as bat shit crazy as the far right ones, but for very different "reasons".
  21. Let's be honest, there are those on the leave side that want to leave for all the racist reasons. But that doesn't mean for a second that wanting to leave is automatically racist.
  22. I guess I can see why people with the money to do so would want to hire someone to arrange everything for them so they didn'[t have to make up 30 party bags, hire the bouncy castle, sort out invites and so on (can you tell my daughter's 5th is coming up?). If that's all it really is, then fair enough, it's like having a personal shopper (another thing I'll never have). But just the use of the word bespoke makes it sound so ludicrous before you've even started.
  23. Whenever I see someone asking this question I feel all nostalgic for the early 90s when there was one in Dartford and one in Croydon with loads of slides, waves, floaty river in rubber rings and the like. Had great times at both with my mates as a kid. Croydon Water Palace https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Croydon_Water_Palace Dartford Fantaseas (much better or the 2 and had outdoor pool in the summer) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fantaseas Happy days
  24. Well it's already been moved to the classifieds section. I think that anyone using the word "bespoke" when talking about a kid's party just needs to be pointed at and laughed at in the street.
  25. I certainly don't think it needs to open any earlier than 7am. But can't see how opening later would do any harm.
