So apologies if I didnt know which > type of middle class is the right type of middle > class....:) I dunno, my Aussie mates are always talking about boguns living up in the hills (suburbs). I reckon there is a fair bit of class snobbery going on there.

I agree with Quids RE the good stuff that Cameron did. But he and Osborne made a lot of deep deep cuts to public services that I believe they made because they wanted to. The whole austerity / balancing the books thing was a convenient excuse to let them do what the hell they wanted. So for that reason the pair of them can jog on.

In the spirit of consistency I have remained shit.

Seems I missed this thread first time. Can't believe how many people were saying Deptford.
-
I used to love Bubblegum in Deptford. Imagine it's long since closed.

You say "out of europe" like it's a bad thing (in footballing terms). Europa league just isn't worth the trouble. Of course I'd have loved for Liverpool to have won it last season, but it's just way too many games to get to the end of it.

Nothing could surprise me when you put the words "Southwark" and "Housing" next to each other.

He was also pretty unimpressed with the idiot white people that took part, saying "even our struggle no longer our own". I've yet to see a single person of any colour support what these dickheads did the other day.

Me being long gone from the office by now on a Friday.

Much as I am agreeing with you pretty regularly these days Quids, I have always had a different view on education. I personally think schools should be run by LEAs, and I think academies and free schools are just a gift to aspirational middle class parents, and/or religious nutters. And don't get me started on special schools becoming academies.

If I'm calling the police, I want to get on with it rather than listen to recorded messages. 2. If the call has started I've already been charged, so they'd still be telling me after the event. Frankly I'd rather the 15p was going to the underfunded police than the telephone provider, but as has been said, the police don't profit form it.

My mate (former user of this forum from way back) saw him the day of the result in a pub and walked up and said "wanker!" right in his face. He said he felt a bit better about it, and that Farage looked nicely taken aback considering he was surrounded by his croonies. I'd have loved to have seen it, because I just can't imagine it (although I do believe it).

Obviously looks ancient next to HBO's Rome, but the writing and acting were brilliant. And in terms of sitcoms / satire, Yes Minister / Prime Minister stand the test of time way better than "The Thick of It" will IMO. ???? But yeah, Big Broker series 1 was a huge deal. But the actual show was also more interesting in some ways, because they had things like psychologists talking about the behavior of the housemates and how it was affecting them. I watched at least some of the next couple of series (there was one in about 2003 which we'd all watch above the CPT after closing every night, so great excuse for late drinking). But it became a victim of it's own success and got very shit, plus spawned countless unwatchable reality shite.

Ghostbusters I could take, but this is all a step too far.

A flat on our estate has just gone up for sale. It's the same as ours (well mirror image), and on the third floor (ours is first). It's on for ?115k more than we paid for ours 2 and a half years ago (and indeed ?155k than the same flat was bought for 3 years ago). I can't see them getting what they're asking for, but even if they got ?25k less, I'd still be amazed.
-
RE House prices, I can't see them falling dramatically whatever happens (not that I am in any way an expert). There simply aren't enough houses on the market, and there will always be more people wanting to but them, than houses available.

Bless you, you're really not getting the responses you're clearly desperate for are you? Maybe you could do an online trolling course or something.
-
Well after about 52 hours and zero responses, I think we can safely say that this thread was an epic fail, both as an attempt at humour and at trolling. Must try harder..
-
Yep, thirded. Don't allow them to walk over you like this.
-
Yep, all of that is exactly how I've felt for at least a couple of months now. I almost feel like I hate his supporters, which is of course ridiculous, as most of them are probably totally decent people. But I just can't understand how anyone can possible believe this muppet stands a chance (or could do a good job if he did somehow pull of a victory - which he won't). People are just living in social media bubbles. I was totally guilty of that before last year's GE, and I believe I've learned a (hard and horrible) lesson from that.
-
Don't know what to make of that. Barton, despite being a muppet, has got quality. But he's no spring chicken. But everyone is allowed a bad day, perhaps it was just that. Either way, I'm not sure I've ever seen someone take so much interest in their rivals as you MM.
-
I am already falling behind from forgetting (not that I'd be winning if I always remembered). Just did today's late KO and tomorrow's 2 games.
-
Yeah that was what I was going to say. He doesn't want to do anything about it because it's exactly what he's after.

JoeLeg Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Now people always attack Blair (and I agree > there's a lot to reasonably attack), but hey > neatly forget that he got Labour elected. Was chatting to a mate about this the other day. I was saying that a local CLP meeting has the feel of the JPF meetings in Life of Brian. My friend made the very good point that the "what have the Romans ever done for us" scene could be parodied very well in a "what did Blair's government ever do for us?". I was never a fan of Blair and never voted for him, but for these muppets to talk like the Blair years were like being governed by a Tory government is just plain bullshit.
