  1. Awwww, the CPT as it was meant to be! I feel like crying. Judging by the tyre shop at the top of Whateley, 98 seems about right. ???? You might be right, I'm not sure, but I would have said the whole "EDT" thing was a couple of years later. Remember 2000/01 it was packed with young people in a way that East Dulwich had never seen every Friday and Saturday night.
  2. Yeah I don't think buses are a problem, and would be wonderful if they could fly down clear roads. Trains on the other hand are a bloody nightmare on Sundays. I like the idea in theory, but then again, parts of central London are already deserted at weekends, and people are not out making use of those empty streets.
  3. Staff at Canning Town herding people along for the DLR. "Please move down the platform for Excel". 1. This is not a busy platform. 2. I'm not gong to an event at Excel, I am going to work like I do every day. 3. Don't f**king touch me when I have the fear!
  4. Yet to try it. CrookedBillet is old skool, you'd like it Lou.

Great pub. Had a few > in there last night after the game at the Hamlet. Would have come if I hadn't had plans, and used to go when I was in the hood, but from Sydenham/Penge it's a mission.
  6. Not that I've stepped foot in The Ivy House since it reopened, or am likely to.
  7. Yeah of course it makes a difference, and they need to try harder than a place in prime location. But if a place gets it right, people will make the effort. Build.it and they will come. Or something like that.
  8. The Ivy House is proof perfect that location doesn't have to matter.
  9. Typical,I finally give predicting Liverpool wins(went for a draw).
  10. And the fact that this place hasn't thought to inform people with bookings that they're closed is a perfect example of the public relations that have led them to closure.
  11. St Clements church hall is available for.kids parties.

People are buying stuff they don't even particularly want, just because they're buying it cheap. People are stupid.

  21. Hackney is a bit different, it's an area where cool arty young people congregated BECAUSE it was a shit hole and they could afford it. They then made it cool and arty and then the people with money who think they're cool (but generally are not) flood in and drive prices up. There's some of this going on in Peckham I guess. But ED and then areas such as Forest Hill, Sydenham, Crystal Palace and now Penge have never been trendy, it's more about young families.
  22. Liverpool winning a match will end up here at this rate.

You've been royally stitched > up there. I reckon you've paid the normal price > and they've forgotten to give you the half price > deal. Nope, looked at the menu, large shish was a tenner. Can't see him doing well, especially when he's got some good competition in the area.
  24. Good piece on bbc website about Embark Jnr and Snr. Is it on sky or have 5 still got Fury's fights?
  25. I think they should just look at him for a moment, then say "your mum".
