  2. Link again https://www.change.org/p/heygate-estate-scandal-demand-an-investigation?recruiter=152746700&utm_campaign=mailto_link&utm_medium=email&utm_source=share_petition Very good to see how many people have signed, but equally a bit depressing when compared to the number of people that are worried about a few fireworks over a couple of weeks.
  3. I'm someone who doesn't buy things like boots/shoes very often. Basically only when I've worn the last pair down to nothing. So I am all for spending a bit on a decent hard wearing pair. BUT I just can't imagine ever having ?400 to spend on boots. There will ALWAYS be something I'd rather spend that ?400 on (probably some guitar related gadget that I'll never actually use to it's potential).
  4. Jezza already beat me to Marshall Amps, which immediately came to mind. You can still get brit made DMs, but they're more expensive.
  5. Interest will dwindle. (have you heard fireworks in the last couple of nights?). Then after new year there will be more people signing for a week or so. Then we can all move on til next year.
  6. None taken, but we disagree. "Yes, not good for the person who found them, but a f*** of a sight better than being him" Well not really, being as he's dead and will never have to get that image out of his head. And no, if someone killed themselves in their house, it probably wouldn't get mentioned here because there wouldn't be a load of police and stuff. That's what draws people's interest. Believe it or not, I suspect we'd share similar views about suicide, and I would HATE it to come across (as I think it has) that I'm somehow blaming / having a go at this poor guy for being inconsiderate and doing himself in in public. When you're that low, stuff like that isn't even an issue. But in the cold light of day for the rest of us, it is. And if he did leave anyone behind who ever reads this, I am sorry for your loss.

Otta I'm guessing..... I'm 99% sure you're guessing wrong.
  8. Not really. The "consequences" for him were that everything is finished. He was at a point so low it seems that that was preferable to carrying on. That is absolutelky tragic and I have nothing but sympathy for peole that reach that point. But mu point stands, you have absolutely no idea if he had so much as a friend, let alone a greiving family. Would you condemn a thread about a teenager being stabbed and killed in the street? There have been threads on exactly that subject, and I don't remember anyone saying that it was irresponsible because they family might see.
  9. It's an L shape with a landing at the corner if that makes sense. But quite wide and not too steep. I'd definitely go for it, don't think you'll struggle too much.
  10. Oh for God's sake. The bloke hanged himself in the woods, where he could have very easily been found by a child (and even if it was an adult, I imagine they're pretty upset about the experience). That's about as bloody public as you can get. No one knows who it was or where he was from, he may not have any family or close friends, that could be part of the reason he killed himself. He could have been a homeless bloke from Scotland, we don't know. But all this talk of the upset this thread could cause to some imagined family is just a nonsense. People can moan about the noise of a few fireworks, but a man hanging in the local woods is not worthy of note? Seriously???
  11. Whilst I have absolutely nothing against the Gowlett, I really have never quite gotten what all the fuss was about when it comes to ther place or their pizza. It's good, it's not special IMO.
  12. I guess on big honey farms they're knocking all the bees out whilst they harvest the honey. A small organic provider probably wouldn't do that. Seriously people, watch Bee Movie, it's great!
  13. Will someone think of the poor bloody worms that help all that soil the vegetables grow in!
  14. Nothing ironic about a killjoy not getting a joke, it's just true to form.

I can't believe this was your response to *bob*'s post. I don't want to attack anyone, but that has got to be one of the most humourless posts in forum history.
  16. Forget fly puke, it would contain your dead skin cells. Ewwwwwwwwww!
  17. Watch "Bee Movie", great film.
  18. Not sure I can really see this taking off... http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2014/11/09/ku-klux-klan-rebrand-open_n_6129274.html?utm_hp_ref=uk

    Football Focus

Parkdrive beat me to it. Not sure how much AVB had to do with chosing all thse signings.
  20. Very very good.
  21. Mustard Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Why don't you start a thread about cars and bikes? Because I am not stupid enough to want them banned because I might find them mildly annoying at times. Stick with being annoyed by the noise, I can understand that even if I disagree. But when you start talking about the harm they do to my lungs you've completely lost me.
  22. Mustard Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > It's the > mindless setting off in back gardens, on the > street or in parks that so many people are > objecting to. Are you seriously lumping fireworks in the back garden in with setting them off in the parks and streets? Really? The noise may bug you, okay I can get that. And no one should be setting them off in the street / parks, I don't for a second disagree with you. But "mindless setting off in back gardens"? Have a word.
  23. Mustard Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Perhaps instead of the noise, you should instead > think of the pollution they cause to our lungs. Do you drive? Traffic makes loads of noise all year round, is terrible for the environment and kills loads of people each year. Ban the cars!!! And the bikes, ban the bloody bikes (because they basically turn otherwise lovely people in to complete weirdos. More mind altering than any drug).
  24. The OP looks like a bad cut & paste from somewhere. The whole share on facebook / twitter is probably just a general link copied from somewhere. I guess anyway.
