  1. I also suspect that there is an element of snobbery involved.

  5. This one barely existed 8 years ago to be fair.
  6. "Bring back ILEA" Haha, I'm pretty sure that ship has sailed. Like 30 years ago.
  7. I stand to inherit in ED so I just use the forum to keep am eye on house prices on case I need to bring the hit forward.
  8. Lively pop rock
  9. "I believe the Harris Free School Nunhead is due to open in September 2015. " Even if this school does go ahead, that is never going to happen.

Wow, big shocker, I think we're all junkies by his definitiotn. > However he's an eccentric Englishman which is a very good thing and I prefer him to just about every politician. Well yeah, but that's like saying I prefer flea bites to cancer.

I like Hodgson, but he's treated his player really poorly for me. And I think pointing to Michael Owen and even Robbie Fowler as examples of pacey players who have been over used from a young age burning out, is valid. Owen had a pretty good career, but it will always look like a career that started with so much promise and never really lived up to it because he was never allowed to fully recover.
  13. Our daughter's school (St Bart's, Sydenham) send a weekly newsletter home which is quite useful. In terms of actual info about how your child is getting on in the classroom, info last year was so hard to come by and we were made to feel like a we were being a nuisance whenever we asked about anything. This turned me VERY much against the school, because our daughter would come home upset or with different clothes on and we couldn't find out if she'd had an accident or put the wrong stuff on after PE. This is unbelievably frustrating. This year things are 100% better, so I think it very much just depends on staff in the class your kid is in.
  14. 1. Peckham, Camberwell, Nunhead, Forest Hill, Sydenham, Penge, Herne Hill, Crystal Palace and probably other places. And that's just the discussion sections. The for sale sections get used by people all over the place, I've agreed to buy / sell things before and ended up going to Clapham / Balham to collect / drop off. 2. There are some decent forums, but nothing anywhere near as big and busy as this.

You have no idea how close to the mark you are. My daughter is now 5.5 and still wants to go everywhere on my shoulders. My lower back is caving!

Good record, will get some goals, but not sure he's going to set the world alight. Di Maria on the other hand is awesome. Nice to see this thread pop up with some actual football talk rather than the usual shite. What did people think about the whole Sterling rest thing? Intersting support from the likes of Rio Ferdinand, especially what he said about Tevez whilst at United.
  17. I used to despise him, then I had a brief period of thinking he wrote some good articles. But I quickly went back to despising him again. Despise might be a slightly strong word, but I do think he's living on another planet.
  18. All of which sounds perfectly believable. Not sure Clegg's ego would allow him to play second fiddle to Ed Miliband, because in his (Clegg's) mind, he's probably above him on the political ladder.

I moved from literally around the corner from my daughter's school to 1.2 miles away (according to google maps). I initially thought I'd walk it every day because I walk all over the place and would easily do that in 20 minutes. However, throw a young child in early years in to the equation and that soon becomes 30 minutes plus. Expecting a child to do that before they've even started, then again when they're knackered at the end of the day is too much IMO.
  20. Another favourite from my teens.

  22. I'm sure the parties are great, but could they look any less like the characters if they tried?
  23. Despite anything I have previously said on ths thread about James and this issue. EastDulwichLabour has probably done a wonderful job of costing his party seom votes by coming across as an unprofessional moron. Bravo.
