  1. Maybe it's ironic that none of it was ironic, and thus she's had the last laugh... ;-)
  2. My mistake, it was the "Your views on Foie Gras" thread. Christ, that thread was the thread that just kept giving!
  3. Oh DJ, I remember you doing EXACTLY this when (if I remember rightly) you took offence at something someone from a pub (possibly the then Wishing Well) said, and despite EVERYONE telling you you'd got it wrong you just absolutely refused to accept it or back down an inch.
  4. There is a campaign against it, but as it's to do with the whole crossrail thing, I can't see it being stopped unfortunately.
  5. "Public schools are no more responsible for creating peadophiles than anywhere else" You may have a point about the language used, but I have no idea how you can make this claim with any kind of conviction other than "what you reckon".

This is where my crappy eyesight will thankfully hold me back.
  7. I have also heard about a public school in dulwich reacting very poorly to reports of bullying a few years ago. Purely anecdotal mind. Anyway... PokerTime Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > you also have managed to compare peadophilia to homosexualtiy> Nothing to say on this potential spat, but this did remind me of a piece on Radio 4 the other day talking about this unbelievable situation in the 1970s (this article is from Feb this year) http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-26352378 The radio thing I heard actually played a snippet from a radio interview with a guy saying "a good caring paedophile can help nurture these feelings in a child", like they were kind life guides or something. Couldn't believe what I was hearing.

Just wondering whether it may have been my mum, but we're going back about 3 years since she took my older girl to All fired up in Dulwich.
  9. Link to the plans on this site http://louderthanwar.com/read-the-planning-application-submitted-for-the-demolition-of-denmark-street/
  10. Fair point, I am not the most outgoing person with strangers.
  11. Yeah I used to sometimes take my daughters to tipee toes when they were little and even if I was the only dad and no one talked to me (you mum's really don't) there was enough happening that it didn't matter. I would often find though that I went to things and tried to look smiley and unthreatening but would still be largely ignored. My mum would then take my kids to the same groups and tell me how friendly they were.
  12. Indeed, I like to admire a good bit of beam work during films I've paid to watch.
  13. I shared this on facebook. And the whole area is due to be demolished.
  14. I'm not a huge fan of Russel Brand, but I thought "Russell Brand - who these days sees himself as a sage rather than as a comedian famous for his voracious appetite for consenting adult lovelies" Was a bit bloody rich when spoken by a clearly opinionated columnist!
  15. Indeed. As said elsewhere, I find her very annoying, but no need for nastiness.
  16. Haha. Seriously, I just can't stand her and never have been able to stand her. I respect her for appearing on Mongrels though.
  17. I can't help (was only a kid then), but are you aware of the "we grew up in east dulwich" group on facebook? Has 1000 odd members a lot of whom were around at that time. Might get a response on there...
  18. It really is. I have to say some of the things they point out in that report (about the interior) are a bit OTT, and I think most places would stuggle to not raise concerns if they are being that picky. But that is an aside, and certainly doesn't detract from the real issue.
  19. Can someone (BR) tell me, does a season ticket include every home game (cups n all)? Was thinking of getting one, but realistically I'm not sure I'd ever get to the evening matches, so may not be worth it.
  20. He's my favourite player. Mainly just based on his surname. But he's pretty good too.
  21. Boooo!!!!!!
  22. Fair play ZT, it was me that mentioned the skaeboard thing so thought you meant me. I dunno, people have teased a bit but not sure anything was intended as unkind. But then I guess if you don't know the poster's "style" you might not get that they're just ribbing you.
  23. The thought of a bridge from Beckton to Thamesmead. Comedy genius!
  24. In what universe can she ever be described as a tiny little thing?!?
