  1. I don't think you are a prick by the way, but your previous post was a bit off IMO.
  2. My my, aren't you the snidey one today, perhaps you could apply for a position of moderator. We get it, you really really really want a cinema, and couldn't really care less what the staff are paid so long as you get your cinema. I'm not THAT fussed about it either, but you're coming across as a bit of a prick today to be honest.
  3. I think you're right Quids. I share things on FB, but only the ones that make me laugh. Even I can see that just saying "well then you're a racist" isn't really going to win any arguments.
  4. I may have to share that on on FB.
  5. But dear God please don't do a bbq in the woods!
  6. I thought David had already been clear that he wouldn't use them. That is pretty far removed from not wanting a cinema in the area at all. As he said, they'll do well regardless, but they will lose the custom of some. And as BB points out, they could be missing a trick which could gain them even more business from people that wanted a warm fuzzy glow along with their popcorn. I still think it's more important to address why it so bloody much to live in London in the first place.

I think having peole holding signs with the name of the party and "polling station this way" is a good idea, reminding people to vote, and possibly making them think of your party. But if anyone actually started trying to convince me which way to vote right outside the polling station they['d stand a good chance of losing my vote. People for the most part don't decide who they're voting for inside the polling station, they go there knowing more or less what they#re going to do.
  8. Aaaaaaanyway. I wish people would stop putting UKIP and BNP in the same group. BNP and the EDL are loathsome vile racist bigots, and I would happily call anyone that votes for them a scumbag (well worse than that, but this is a family forum). UKIP have some elements of that nastiness in their ranks, that is obvious from some of the embarrassing things that they've tried to distance themselves from (the recent Lenny Henry thing was a classic, the irony of telling someone from Dudley to go and live in a "black country" made me laugh). BUT Voting for UKIP does not make you a scumbag like voting BNP/EDL does. A lot of people in this country have gone out and voted for them, which highlights that their central issue of Europe is one that people feel strongly about. Okay, so it's completely unclear what they think about anything else, but that's not really the point, I don't think anyone actually expects them to win real power, they are voting for the issue of Europe, end of. Basically it just means that the major parties need to try harder. I see the likes of my dad in the pub listening to a load of blokes spouting the usual anti Europe bull, and it wouldn't surprise me if he at least considered voting for them based on that. Lots of people are sheep*, and UKIP are doing a bloody good job at shephearding them through soundbites and (barely credible) headlines. * I'm not saying everyone that voted UKIP is a mindless sheep, but a lot of them will have been quite frankly.
  9. Roundabout, what's the solution?
  10. I might have a go if it's free.

  12. Wait, Innocence has been bought by Coke? I'm pleased I've gone Naked now.
  13. Who could get poison in to your garden? Sounds like either an immediate neighbour or someone backing on to you. What a complete and utter shit of a person whoever it is.

I don't rate Slayer personally.

  16. I want people to earn enough money to live on, but isn't the answer to address the cost of living in London rather than the wages paid? This should be on another thread really, leave this one to the cinema.

Once upon a time I'd go to loads of gigs whether I was particularly interested in the act or not (I even went to see Nickleback, and actually was rewarded with a pretty spectacular stage show). I just loved the crowds and the atmosphere, but I'd always do my best to get in to it and cheer and jump around a bit. If I really couldn't get in to it I'd leave or just sit in the bar, but that was very rare. And then I just got fed up with it. Yes there's the smoking ban, yes there's kids, yes I'm older and don't have quite the energy I did 10 years ago, but really and truly I just don't enjoy the experience so much anymore. So these days I'd only go out to see something I really wanted to see, or to see people I really wanted to see. Luckily last night I got to see the people, and was also pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed the band.

RE the NMH Gig last night, The band were great, the acoustics were rubbish, and the standing crowd were asleep. Was a shame because the set deserved more of a reaction, but it was all a bit polite applause where we were, except us of course, but I got some funny looks. So as a gig, I'd say the atmosphere could have been better, but that's the crowd's fault. As someone who was indifferent to the band before last night, I really enjoyed their performance and don't know what else they could have done.

You're right PD, I am terrible for using my phopne, but make a point of not doing it when out with my girls. Even having two kids can be a nightmare in these circumstances. I very nearly saw my older daughter go under the wheels of a big car that came seemingly out of nowhere around a corner in to a side street. My younger one distracted my attention, and the older one (unchariceristically to be fair) just went out in to the road. I've never been so scared, I swear the world slowed down. Doesn't bare thinking about what could happen if you're paying no attention. I did exchange some choice words with the driver who started blaming me, but on that occasion it was his bloody fault.
  22. I think it looks quite nice. And nothing is a surprise when it comes to prices anymore.
  23. Haha, I wondered about that too.

Maybe, maybe... But I honestly reckon he'll give Liverpool at least one more season and see how things go / who they sign. But imagine a Real team with Ronaldo, Bale and Saurez. Scary.
