  1. Yeah, I'm not a car owner, so I assumed I was missing something, but I always wondered why people were fighting having a CPZ. If I drove I'd love a parking spot outside my gaff.
  2. Been a while since I was a teenager, but defo go to the GP. Remember a friend who's mum was a GP telling me she'd prescribed him some tablets which had really cleared his face up.

    BBC3 Axed

I'm pretty sure Two pints of lager was around well before BBC3. But BBC3 Kept it alive, which was almost cruel.
  4. Haha, alas it was me that had to take the plunge. She too short and would have ended up head first in the bog. That would have been funny, but then I'd have had to deal with the aftermath.
  5. It says that it was a bad link. Try this http://www.cityam.com/article/1393351308/how-socialism-has-destroyed-venezuela
  6. On that subject, my daughter dropped my ipod touch down the loo last week. It sat at the bottom of the pan for at least a minute and it came out unharmed (internal speaker didn't work for 2 days but now fine). I have issues with Apple, but that is impressive. Had that been my phone that would've been the end.
  7. Louis Pasteur? I admit to looking up Joseph Lister.
  8. I doubt they'd plan a motorway at the end of my road to be honest. But seeing your responses just makes me hope they add a few extra flights to the schedule. Sleep tight.
  9. Have you considered anger management? A lot of things have changed in the last 40 years funnily enough. Some good, some bad. Where would you have the planes fly? I know you've said the thames, but the thames not being particularly wide, I imagine that would then disturb other people. Perhaps they feel that after 40 years it's about time you had a turn.
  10. And a colleague at work has recommended a little shop that will replace the usb post for about ?25, so will be heading there tomorrow!
  11. I've formatted the SD Card which seems to have sorted it, although obviously that meant losing some stuff but nout important. Won't be using dropbox again in a hurry. It's painfully slow and clearly has some issues. Have downloaded a wifi transfer app as Jeremy suggested.
  12. I think the problem is some posters calling anyone that disagrees with them a moron.
  13. I just think the whole dressing up bit should be scrapped, and that kids should take their fave book in. I am not at all convinced that the dressing up will actually encourage any significant number of children to read. Some would accuse me of being a grump, but these are the few that have a lot of time on their hands and possibly money to burn. This thread and facebook have proven to me that the vast majority of people just find it stressful or expensive and half the time the kids seem completely bemused by the whole affair.
  14. As a bloke, I'd be pretty hurt if my wife assumed I couldn't manage our child. I do think a lot of women kind of assume their husbands are incapable of managing a child, but really it's because they won't give them a look in. Don't take that as harsh, it's not meant to be, but chat to your fella before you decide he won't cope.
  15. Whenever I'm on a 176 and using my phone it gets cut off as we pass Horniman. And yes, it's not something you tend to think about, I've recently moved and am having some signal issues (though not as severe as you). I think you may be able to get some sort of signal boosters, but not sure whether they actually work very well.
  16. Unfortunately that whole area is a big black spot for signals. Sydenham Hill and Horniman are a nightmare.

My colleague is in this situation, she put her place on the market before Christmas and got an offer very quickly. Unfortunately though she can't find anything in the area she wants to move to, and is seeing the prices rise month by month. She thinks the buyers will pull out very soon, and she's starting to think that she won't afford anything now. Only bonus I guess is that if her buyers pull out now, she may find that her place has gone up in value a bit...
  18. Yeah, that is weird.
  19. Will try later, but I'm pretty sure it won't. I've emptied dropbox, and it's empty on both phone and computer.
  20. She'll be going as Dorothy until she outgrows the dress. I'm hoping for 3 or 4 years!
  21. To be fair to them, my mate used to live in a flat on bassano street, and they would be very visable if they were in their gardens / roof terraces catching some rays in the summer.
  22. How can a therapy designed to alter behaviour do anything to reduce sound sensitivity? I'm not an expert, but that seems as absurd as saying CBT can cure autism.
  23. Nope that's not sorting if foxy. It seems to have done something to the whole folder because 1. The folder seems to have gone rtead only, I can't rename it, and I can't delete it or any of it's contents 2. When i take a new photo it's started a new folder instead of adding them to the folder with all the others in. Bit stumped.
  24. But in the mean time I still can't work this out. I've unlinked the phone from dropbox, I've tried deleting from gallery and from the file manager. In gallery they disappear, then just spring back in to life seconds later. In file manager I get "delete failed" flash up even when I just try to delete one photo. Looks like I'll have to put the memory card in to a different devise.
  25. Yeah would need a whole new socket. Think I'll just muddle through til the end of contract. Jeremy the wifi transfer thing sounds good, shall do that in future and cut out the dropbox middleman.
