I've never really listened to them that closely, as I just can't get on with Morrisy's voice (personality another story). Like a few of their tracks, but couldn't sit and listen to the inner workings of the bass lines. Whereas I'm not a huge Stevie Wonder fan, but I can happily listen to his records just for James Jamerson / Nathan Watt's bass lines.
  2. Yep Johnny Marr's playing IS The Smiths. And I mean that in a good way.
  3. Randy Rhodes. Died far too young. Was classically trained, which you could hear in his solos. Had apparently (according to Ozzy) already told Ozzy that he'd leave the band after the next album / tour to go and get his music degree. We'll never know where he'd have gone from there, but whether or not you like Ozzy Osbourne's music, you shouldn't let that colour your opinion of Randy's playing, he was amazing. With regards usual suspects, I'm a Slash man. Just for pure attitude in his style.
  4. Very stange the way this has been done. Captain or not, no player should have a say in whether another player should play or not. I don't like the whole board of selecters thing either, they should just pay a coach to pick his team and get on with it. I do think KP is a knob though.

Now that would be interesting... In a car crash kind of way.

Is that a response to the Carroll red card being upheld per chance? Shocking decision.
  8. Don't get me wrong, I know that any money in these areas is definitely a recent thing, I was just surprised to hear that people still think of E London as "poor". I mean there are still loads of poor areas in E London, but I thought the current image of Hackney and even Stratford would have glossed over all that a bit.
  9. I can't even think of the site you mean, so no idea what state it's in.
  10. I imagine that would simply cost too much, as you'd need to build the adult education site at the cop shop, then basically rebuild a new school on the other site.
  11. That's two years old, and whilst there are undoubtedly still poor families around, I suspect the area has changed in the last two years quite a lot. Money is flooding in to Hackney these days.

San Andreas has been lots of fun (near the end now), but buggy and crashy which has been a bit grating along the way. Only playing on ipod touch (5th gen) though, so may be better on better devices. Why must Rockstar insist on having flying missions in GTA games though. They are always the ones that I struggle with.

Fair enough, especially on the ale front if you're an ale user (I am a lager lout). As I say, my only experience is of The Chandos, which doesn't remind me of any of the other things you say, but... 1. ... It's been a good few years since I've been, so maybe it's not so good now 2. ... maybe that's an exception.

No. Most prisoners can not be taken off site. School kids can go to local facilities. I went to St John's when it was on Northcross / Archdale, and that was small with a little playground. We went to Dulwich baths, Crystal Palace sports centre, Peckham Rye (this was in the 80s). Talking about the kid's human rights because there won't be a massive playground is over extending.
  15. Not jumping on a band wagon, but you do seem absolutely determined to be negative on this thread. I don't think this is an ideal site for a school, but a school is required, and there's not really anywhere else to put one, so yes, we must make do. There are other areas that they could concentrate on to make up for any failings of the site... Like the actual teaching and education of the children.
  16. Are you still moaning foxy? Do you have kids of primary age? If not, let it go man, you'll put yourself in an early grave with all this worrying about the poor mites breathing in recycled air.
  17. East London is poor? Isn't Hackney East London?

StraferJack Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Cheshire cheese another Sam smith tho Serious question, because I honestly don't know. What's wrong with Sam Smith pubs? The only one I know is The Chandos / Opera Rooms near Charing Cross, where I used to meet a bunch of old friends. Haven't been there for ages, but have good memories, posibly just because they were good nights with friends... So what's the problem with them if they're taking pubs that might otherwise close and keeping them more or less as they are? (again for all I know they may rip the interior out of once lovely places, I'm genuinely asking here)?

  20. What's funny is that no one has said anything negitive about West Dulwich. It is indeed nice, it's just not what you'd call lively.

Gracious BR, I like your style.
  23. A kid has been stabbed. Unless I've missed something that is all we know. Speculation is not helpful. We're not talking about what new shop might open on Lordship Lane. Have a word with yourself.
  24. East Dulwich is lovely, I am not going to slag it off. But people paying current prices to live there are just stupid as far as I'm concerned. No area is THAT nice.
  25. For lots of people (like me) it really is "now or never". I am never going to save a 20% deposit. This Help to Buy Scheme won't last forever, so I've had to jump. I am well aware that in a couple of years time, the mortgage payments may well get nasty, but it's this or keep renting til our parents die (which hopefully won't be for a long time).
