  1. Cheers KK, it was a good night, except when the power cut out to my effects board during my big solo moment (seriously the timing was so bad you'd think it was planned). We'll definitely do another night there in a few months. Our next gig is north of the river at Buffalo Bar on Thursday 3rd Jan.

One for the diaries ;) Who are they? Is it your band by any chance?
  3. I'm not sure I'd want to get stoned with the good people of ED to be honest.
  4. This is what I miss about my brief (couple of years after uni) in the private sector. Awesome office parties with free bars an bad behaviour. You don't get that working for Newham Council :(
  5. Hoax calls have been going on for years. This woman answered the phone, she never actually gave out any info. My first thought was that maybe she was very harshly dealt with after, but it appears not. I'm with Strafer, there must have been things already wrong for this to tip her over the edge, I just can't imagine that falling for a joke would drive you to kill yourself. I imagine the DJs will be feeling pretty rotten anyway, but to actually blame the death on them is ridiculous.
  6. Silver surfer never said it was did s/he? But for the record, it wasn't the nurse who gave out the info, it was the nurse who answered the phone. One of her colleagues gave out the info. Either way, poor woman, very sad. Just to go back a bit... PaulK "Meanwhile ordinary people are left unfed, unwashed and dehydrated in dirty NHS hospital beds." This just isn't real.
  7. Everyone (including me) going for West Ham win over Liverpool, except for Jah Lush. Here's hoping you're right Jah!
  8. I think the one I was looking at was 4th gen. So I imagine going for a 2 should be significant ly cheaper.
  9. The band do all that, and Jeremy is out master recording man. I just want something that will allow me to send them an idea with a bit more flesh on it than just some guitar, so they kind of hear what I am thinking for the wider song as opposed to just a guitar riff. What iPad do you have bob? The one on offer at Mrs Otta's work is the newest one, but I'd happily go for a cheaper older model just for this purpose.
  10. That does look good. I hadn't seen anything that "cheap". Think that could be the way forward.
  11. Arsenal 2 - 2 West Brom Aston Villa 2 - 1 Stoke Southampton 2 - 0 Reading Sunderland 1 - 2 Chelsea Swansea 2 - 1 Norwich Wigan 1 - 1 QPR Man City 2 - 2 Man Utd Everton 1 - 2 Tottenham West Ham 2 - 1 Liverpool Fulham 1 - 2 Newcastle
  12. Really? That might be better. I got guitar rig for ?20 which allows me to plug guitar in to USB and choose a few amp models and various effects so maybe that's the way to go...
  13. Good for Celtic, it's an excellent achievement.
  14. El Pibe that would be cool. Bob is convincing me. I never thought it would give me professional recordings, but the chance to chuck some drums and flesh behind raw guitar ideas is appealing.
  15. What I'm not sure about is how garageband for iPad compares to the full mac version.
  16. My wife's work has a good offer on iPads, and I've been considering getting one solely for the music apps. Can anyone tell me whether they are any good?

    I recently bought a drill.
  18. Heh heh, he said "wood".

Wouldn't that involve taking some responsibility? I don't like to do that.

I'm 34 now. Great, just fucking great!
  21. PD, What channel was that on?
  22. I stumbled across the first series whilst in a drunk / erm "relaxed" state, and got hooked. I think up until this series it's been genuinely really good funny and clever telly. It's probably still good, but now all the original characters have left I just can't really be arsed.

You'll save loads and want less :) Annoyingly, up until the last couple of years I did earn more than most of my close friends, but my income seems to have peaked (and it's not that impressive a peak) whilst they're all climbing ladders. Bastards!

I think you're right WOD. I have a very bad habit of just buying things I want ("oh I must have that guitar pedal, it looks so cool, even though I will probably have little or no use for it, it's only ?150"). But now that my income is not mine alone to waste, I am constantly feeling grumpy about things I can't have, or I'm having them then feeling very worried about the consequences. Perhaps I'll be good with money by my 40s...
