    Grumpy middleage

I'm not even middleaged yet, but I've started being a proper grumpy bastard quite early.
  2. Just tell them granny is a nasty lier.
  3. There was no kindness involved.
  4. There have been some bloody good sporting duels since the 70s. Eubank Benn anyone?
  5. I would definitely question point 1. As long as you're not doing other work whilst you're meant to be working g for them, I don't see what possible problem they could have. I used to do all sorts of freelance stuff outside of my full time hours and it never even occurred to me to check whether I was technically meant to. I'd try talking it through with them.
  6. Fox we use these and they seem to last ages. Maybe you should get your wiring checked to make sure they're not getting overloaded or something like that. Not that I know the first thing about electrics.
  7. Only live music I've heard there was decidedly jazz, and that doesn't count.
  8. This bot programme seems to be a failure.
  9. Not Apple, they ARE evil! FACT!!! ;-)

What I am saying is that rather than acting all shocked that the MASSIVE business has chosen to act in morally questionable way, the powers that be in this country should close the loop holes.

You didn't offend me, I am just genuinely interested as to why you seem so interested.
  13. Amazon is a business, and they want to make a profit. They are not breaking any laws, so fair play IMO. I'm not saying that I don't think they should pay more tax here, but laws need to be changed rather than MPs whinging about morals. Besides, I save loads of money using Amazon.
  14. From the BBC Website " 1039 FOOTBALL Paris St Germain have begun talks with former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola in the hope of bringing him to the French capital next summer, says French sport newspaper L'Equipe. Current coach Carlo Ancelloti has apologised for the club's recent run of bad form which has left them fourth in Ligue 1." Please let this be true, just to disappoint Chelsea!

Gidget what is it with these somewhat passive aggressively worded demands? No "dear admin, you may wonder why I'm asking this. In truth even I'm not sure, but would you mind telling me...". Instead "can you confirm..." not even a please.
  16. Bit stupid to announce it before she's even 12 weeks, but then I guess horrible shitty luck doesn't happen to them.
  17. Nice of you to be so pleased for The Irons too They're your second team really aren't they ;-)

    X factor

Very true, but a catchy tune.

I liked the Pink song, and I actually quite liked Tulisa's tune. She seemed genuinely very nervous.

I want Christpher to win it now. I always thought that by the time you got to the final, you tended to have "credible" people left. I thought (hoped) the boy band would get to the final, then get eliminated and leave James & Jahmene to fight it out. Now I suspect Christopher may well get to the last 2, and possibly even win. I'm leaning towards Jahmene now, He is warbling less, and I like the soul stuff he's done in the last couple of weeks. Talented as James is, I'm fed up with the tortured soul pained voice, and his too cool for school demeanor.
  21. Whilst I couldn't have been less surprised about the Saville allegations, I would be absolutely shocked if there was any truth in that!
  22. He has swan dived at least twice that I can think of. Suarez has dived plenty, so please don't think I'm saying he hasn't. But equally "he travels at speed and likes to cut across players" could also be said of him, and he has been accused on plenty of occasions when I think that some minimal contact has been enough to send him over because he's at full tilt.
  23. Funnily enough, the couple of times where I've not felt entirely comfortable in there were during the day. I am going back maybe 4 or 5 years mind. I basically like the place, and have certainly never felt inclined to leave for fear of getting beaten up or anything.

When I was approaching the age where I could get served in a pub, my dad always told me to avoid the Mag. You would not recognise ANYTHING of the old Magdalla now.
  25. I'd love a proper venue that had proper noisy bands of many genres on. But it aint gonna happen. The Half Moon Herne Hill, and The Hob, Forest Hill are both decent.
