  1. Ha ha, you go Quids! I don't hate cars at all, I just don't accept that people just couldn't live without them. Move closer to your job, or get a job closer to home. Send your child to a nursery closer to the other kid's school. I do sympathise, but you make choices in your life, and when making these choices, you consider the fact you drive. If you didn't drive you'd just make different choices.
  2. I'd also heard that the film ramps up the dementia side a bit.
  3. Bad lads army. The only reality tv I ever made a point of watching!
  4. Sling and stroller definitely easiest with a newborn and a toddler. We have P&T Sport, which we're happy with, and it's fine on buses. Absolute nightmare for stairs though.
  5. I dunno Strawbs, to be honest, dummies divide people almost as much as controlled crying. It's a mine field out there!
  6. Pudding somewhat over egged there, whichever side you're on.

There are plenty of > people for whom a car is absolutely a necessity. No, there are plenty of people who would claim, and probably even believe that a car is a necessity. The majority of these people are wrong.
  8. Yes I have, it is to keep the roads in good order, it is not to allocate a parking space outside your house. There is no point most of the time. It's a hoop that they have to jump through.
  9. I agree, but she's saying more than that. Yes politicians are to be held to account. That is very different from just being rude to them to make you feel better.
  10. My wife liked a snug new dressing gown that baby could snuggle in with her.

I wasn't calling you anything, I was telling you how your posts are coming across. Even Fazer, who was with you, told you to give it a rest. And as to "why should the > council give a toss what the residents want", > maybe because they're our democratic > representatives, and are there to serve us? That doesn't mean the residents should be able to decide where they can park their cars. They have no say over the roads outside of their houses, and nor should they. Serving you does not mean doing exactly as you wish.
  12. Get in there BB, excellent call!
  13. Sorry, but what DUTY did JB not perform. During all of dubbug's posts, all I can tell is that JB wasn't an expert on housing law, and didn't have the power to make Southwark do something. Councillors don't have the power to just tell different council departments to do this and do that. I've disagreed plenty with JB on here, but dubbug's posts are really nasty in tone.
  14. This is why a bloke shouldn't read this section. I was going to suggest that an idea might be to give it a rest for a while. Arf Arf.
  15. IPE said (ages ago now) It seems transparent to all except James "Barber that the proposed CPZ will inevitably have a negative impact on neighbouring streets, residents of which must be considered stakeholders." Frankly, why should the council give a toss what the residents want? Residents don't own the highway. buddug, do you really expect James to be an expert on everything? He's a human being who tries to help. I'm sure he would have loved to have been able to help you further, but slating him on here just makes you come over as a bit of a shit. Have you tried writing to / visiting your MP?

  17. I've not seen the nasty posts, but would agree that there is certainly no place for that sort of thing. My only issue with James, is that he uses the one user name to post as James Barber Clr, and to post as James Barber the man with his own opinions. As a result, there can be some mix up, and once or twice, it's looked a bit iffy. I agree that he seems a decent man, and my advise to him would be to have 2 distinct usernames. If there are posts that you think are out of order, click on "report this post", and admin will be made aware of them.
  18. What strikes me about the Health and Social Care Bill (having read up on it today), is that it doesn't really mention Social Care very much.
  19. Never been there, but m a big Tippee Toes / Kim fan, and frankly, I hope it comes back to bite them in the arse! Stupid stupid decision in this area. I know there are threads on here from people complaining about child friendly places, but I bet these people won't suddenly start going to this cafe.
  20. Basically yeah. Both clean in my book. Agree with Gerrard that it is a bit hypocritical of Mancini to scream for a booking of Johnson, when he (rightly) complained about Rooney doing it.
  21. Have to agree with MM. Of you want to discuss the merits of something, then give us an unbiased document that sets out exactly what the bill proposes, not some obviously one sided scare mongering. I say that by the way,as someone with differing political views to MM
  22. Old Jamaica Ginger Beer is one of my favourites!
  23. It's fun, and it's good for keeping track of your weight loss, and BMI, but not sure about serious work outs. There are a lot of fitness "games" on wii since wii fit came out, even a Zumba one. Couldn't tell you anything about them though.
  24. Exactly, he'll go there with promises from the owners that he'll have money to spend. He'll spend a load of their money, do okay, get a "bigger" job, get found out, get sacked, and then it'll start again.
