  1. Heh heh fair point, although mine at least describes what is happening, whilst "race to the bottom" is just w@nk speak
  2. Also, just to clarify, of we were talking about tube staff going out on strike for q fair pay deal, I MIGHT be on the other side of the fence. I have supported such action by station workers, who I have dealings with through my job, and think are generally very very good, and helpful. I would look at what they were asking for, and decide whether I thought it was fair enough or not. This is a very different issue though. This would seem to be the RMT rabble raising, and telling it's members to kick up a fuss just to get a few quid extra for nothing. Non Crow in my opinion has damaged the RMT and it's members, and killed off most public support for their causes. The man gets invited to appear on the likes of Question Time occasionally, and is frankly embarrassing and cringe worthy to watch. Floating a load of out dated cliches.
  3. Explain the irony to me Chippy. Or are you putting words in to my keyboard again?
  4. It's not about a "race to the bottom" (good use of a sound byte there), it's about being held to ransom by the RMT. Believe it or not (and I don't care either way) I am all for a fair deal for the working classes (even though that is a very outdated term, which doesn't really exist anymore). I very much disapprove of the RMT's tactics over the last few years though, and will not support it. I also believe that there are plenty of people who will be equally as busy, who will get nothing.
  5. Almost forgot to call you idiot there.
  6. Actually it was buddug being rude. As for my "don't know any better opinions", I'm just as capable of doing a google search as you (which is clearly what you've done). Bankers bonuses are disgusting, but a very different issue. Yes it's unfair that these RMT members get less than other RMT members, but you have to ask, why are any of them being paid bonuses for their normal working hours?
  7. Equally, just because the RMT have managed to bully ?650+ bonuses for London rail staff, does that make it right? Don't get me wrong, I think the money being spent on the Olympics is sickening, and this would be a drop in the ocean overall, but I just don't see why these people deserve to be paid anything extra for doing their job at a busy time. Fair play to them, if I was one of them, and I was being told I might get a few hundred quid, I guess I'd be happy enough to go along with it, but something should be done about Bob Crow and pals, because you hear more about bloody tube workers striking than anyone else!
  8. Charming as ever. Could you not have just posted Without feeling the need to be rude to someone first?

Leave the bastartd." Was a good one.
  11. buddug, why do you call me Atila? As I've said, I genuinely couldn't care less whether there is a CPZ or not, but some of the posts on here are just nasty. Even people who totally oppose James Barber's point of view have said as much. I have never met or spoken to James, and I've disagreed with him pretty strongly on various things, but I've never felt the need to make a personal attack on him. You have a MAJOR gripe about a housing issue, and feel that James did a bad job for you. Even if that is 100% true, you are one person, with one issue. I hardly think that is evidence on which to claim James Barber is bad at his job. Bloody grow up!
  12. I'm afraid I'm with fazer. Beautiful building and lovely outdoor area. That's where the good stuff ends. The service seems to be bad whoever is working. I think it must be part of the training.
  13. HAHAHAHAHAHA, That is brilliant.
  14. And for the record, I couldn't give a rats tail about the CPZ, but the nastiness on this thread kind of makes me hope it happens, just to annoy some unpleasant people.
  15. Puzzled's problem is that s/he really isn't very good at manners. s/he is just a smalltime busybody and really is the last person who should be talking about who should be elected to anything. I imagine s/he is among the least popular people with his/her acquaintances of all walks of life. Obviously I know none of that to be true, just as you puzzled don't really know much (anything?) about James Barber the person. Neither do I, but I at least have the manners to call someone by their first name. What are you, some 1990s Harry Enfield enthusiast?
  16. Even if you're right Huguenot, and I don't know enough about the law to know, at least by giving this lady the inquest that she wants, and probably needs, it could offer closure. Even if at the end of it his cause of death is still recorded as "accidental death", she will have had a full inquest, and will no longer feel that doors are slammed in her face. Still hate the throwing around of the word "justice", but can totally understand the need for a full inquest. Truth for the 96 would be more appropriate perhaps. Agree with BR about the police, it's not like they set out that morning to fuck up the Liverpool fans, and I'll bet a fair few of them have nasty dreams about that day too.
  17. Up the OXO tower! Never heard that before!
  18. A friend posted this on Facebook. Made me laugh. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/relationships/a1385104-Center-Parcs-Anal-sex
  19. That is completely unreasonable. The whole point of a vote, is that people vote for what they believe. James doesn't have to vote with the majority!
  20. I'm not against a deserved bonus being paid, but I don't see why the tube staff should feel they will deserve it. During the Olympics, they will be very busy, as will police (my friend has been told he can't book any time off for 15 weeks this summer), the shop staff in Westfields, the bus drivers, the street cleaners, the hotel staff. The list goes on, what makes tube staff different?
  21. I wish we attended some of the same groups as you people. I'm always convinced our daughter is the only one, as she runs around waving the baby Jesus that she's nicked from the crib, whilst ALL the other kids sit like angels!
  22. Chippy, what do you care about the tube, you've got your car ;-)
  23. I tend to agree.
  24. Wike works fine on Opera Mini on my phone.
