  2. First post on this, and haven't read the whole thread. But going waaaaaaaay back, Is this a joke? The honours system is the biggest old boy's club going! A person who does real good and makes a real difference is given an MBE / OBE, whilst football managers, business men turned TV stars, and old Estonians are made Knights. Doesn't take a shadey banker to bring that in to disrepute, it's already disreputable.
  3. I think a real issue is that some parents who send their 3 year olds to ballet classes actually expect them to be doing serious ballet, rather than being 3 year olds and having fun, which is what 3 year olds should basically be doing. Frankly, I wouldn't want my daughter at a class where she was expected to behave beautifully.
  4. Whilst the points from newcomer & Marie81 are fair enough, the point is that the teacher should have a word and be honest of she thinks this child isn't really suitable for the class, and gibe a refund. Any parent who has an issue about it, should first be brave enough to speak to you, and if they can't bring themselves to do that, theyt should have a word with the teacher. No excuse at all for shouting at the child, end of! (I know nobody was saying there was an excuse for shouting at the child by the way)
  5. Not unless I'm calling my dad, and sometimes myself scum, no.
  6. I had similar once, and it was indeed a dead mouse that seemed to attract them. Sprayed fly spray around the room, and loads of them swarmed out from everywhere. It was grim!
  7. Us blokes know the score ;-)

    Greetings :)

Mike, do yourself q favour and move to either Forest Hill, Sydenham or the Dulwich side of Peckham. You'll save money, and all the "good" stuff about Dulwich will be within easy reach.
  9. Pollyannaella It took me 3 tries to actually say that out loud. I guess at least you could choose to be Polly Anna or Ella.
  10. If my kid hit another child, or stole their toy etc, I'm fine with another parent telling her firmly, but nicely that that's not nice. If a parent shouted at my kid, especially for just being a bit annoying, I'd be in an argument with them straight away!
  11. In my opinion, the rule is a bit OTT, but rules is rules innit.
  12. Does anyone else really not like the new look of the BBC Sport website?
  13. Anyway, bollocks to all this high brow rubbish. If, like me, you enjoy a page turner thriller on the train to work, I recommend Linwood Barclay. Found his first novel for 40p at a book stall, really enjoyed it, and am approaching the end of his second, which I've also enjoyed a lot.
  14. Well that's that then.
  15. I don't think Jeremy ever said running a bank was more difficult than running a country. Are you saying scoring goals is more difficult than running a country?
  16. What Jeremy said. UDT, serious question, would you describe yourself as a socialist, who believes in the redistribution of wealth?
  17. Maybe both.
  18. Ho Ho, quite the card.
  19. Liverpool = The new Millwall! "Nobody likes us..."
  20. You old romantic you!

  22. Talk to each other, and don't assume he knows what you're thinking. (I'm a bloke, we are rubbish at mind reading). Congrats.
  23. Was meant as clarity, not backtracking. As I've said, I'm sure there were some nasty twats there, who had ill intent, but I don't think there was any condoning of racism intended by the majority who were booing. Anyway, bed time for me.
  24. It was mentioned in the "conversation", so I commented on it, and said that maybe it was possible. You seem to have taken offence, which wasn't intended.
  25. No. Slightly would mean it was definitely a part of the cause. Possibly would mean that it could be. It is not intended as a dig at people from Liverpool, a town where many good people were very good to me. It was an acknowledgement that I had come across that outlook from several people.
