  1. "UDT KNOWS"
  2. I don't work in the NHS, and I would agree there have been great improvements over the last decade. HOWEVER, I would argue strongly that these are nothing to do with PIs, and I suspect if you ask most staff, from consultant, to secretary, to hospital porter, they would tell you that PIs have been a hinderence. I work across social care and education, and I admit, I can be a right lazy git at times. However, I have worked with lots and lots of very hard working, and dedicated people, from OTs, to Social Workers, to managers, to teachers, top nursery nurses, and I can assure you, the vast majority of them would tell you what I am telling you when it comes to Performance Indicators.

Unfortunately, in a lot of poor countries, they do practise it, and it's a bloody disaster!
  4. I totally agree with the last few posts, but I really really want to care about England again.
  5. The Tories did introduce some targets, but it was very much Blair's Labour that went Performance Indicator crazy. This resulted mainly in less real work being done with real people / patients / children, and instead just led to organisations finding ways to meet their targets, such as changing eligibility criteria to screen lots of people out at the first hurdle. Most of these PIs were introduced as knee-jerk reactions to press outcry.
  6. Good luck to them, but I have yet to pick up any local freebie and find anything remotely worth reading in it's pages.
  7. That sucks. If it's any consolation, I lost my original wedding ring, and was gutted. My wife told me people are more important than any ring, and I now have a second wedding ring that is much more me, and has a lot more meaning.
  8. Harry is old skool, which means that he still believes (quite rightly) that international football is the pinnacle , and that being capped for England is the greatest honour an English player can receive. I am hopeful that he can get some of this to rub off on the players, so they can go to the Euros, and get knocked out on penalties after a lion hearted effort in The semis, where one of our players is sent off unfairly early on, but the rest of the team play for the 3 lions on their shirts. It could be beautiful... Unfortunately these days most people think their clubs are more important, and that is a damned shame.
  9. .
  10. Can you borrow me a pound.
  11. I dislike Terry, but I agree with the Inocent until proven guilty stand point.
  12. She's a crafty one alright.
  13. Everything apparently.
  14. How so UDT? I'm very interested to hear this.
  15. Agree. I'm surprised he's walked away totally Scot free, but there you go
  16. Well yeah, but not a red top.
  17. I suspect that part of the reason for this is that thick people buy tabloids and The Mail, and because they are thick, they don't question anything, they take what is printed as gospel truth, and as a result, end up with right wing ideals.
  18. Poor LM, her life will feel empty now without you.
  19. Tirade of compliments to your awesomeness you mean?
  20. The great pretender - Queen
  21. Dude, you are special!
  22. I am very humbled.
  23. I bet you knew that definition without even looking it up, didn't you?
