  1. Yeah I was wondering how they'll explain that away. At least the original had water, and possibly another human body to break his fall!
  2. It made a teenage me feel very very uncomfortable!
  3. I think what makes Marianne's book stand out is that she went from top of the world, to pretty much as low as you could get, and then crawled her way back up. A truly interesting story, as opposed to "yeah, we got mashed, and fell over on stage. Rock n fucking roll man".
  4. Ozzy is great for funny stories.
  5. Know exactly what you mean about Slash. The man is my guitar hero, but the book was pretty dull (with the exception of a few stories). Life - Keith Richards is pretty good, although I felt a bit like he never went in to enough detail about the stuff I wanted to know about, and too much detail about the stuff that bored me. Faithful - Marianne Faithful is bloody great!
  6. As an aside, what a bloody ridiculous programme!
  7. I don't think anyone has said that no one needs a car, some people clearly do. A lot of people don't though.
  8. From Southwark website. Parking Tel: 0844 800 2736 [email protected] Why not just drop them a line.
  9. Exactly! Of course football did just fine before Sky showed up, but Sky did show up, and changed things. Players never used to be paid tens of thousands a week. The simple fact is, that if the TV money stopped tomorrow, the teams in the prem especially would find it very difficult to pay their players. Wenger said it himself, they have sold their souls to the devil. But they are doing very well out of it.
  10. Sharon, I think you're missing the point. Of course the 3 points matters most, but football on telly is huge business. The top clubs could indeed get by, but why are they all so desperate to qualify for the CL? Because although it's not everything, the money is important to them.
  11. You've never irritated anyone though, huh UDT?
  12. Just to clarify, this... make me smile, I thought it was funy. This... Or more to the point, the tone of it, is the sort of thing that would have me having serious words with someone in real life. That is not me being macho, and saying I'm going to beat you up (I have no idea if I could beat you up, although I suspect you were trained by Manny Stewart, and are sure you'd have me), that is just me saying you should mind the way you speak to people. As others have said though, I very much doubt you have the bottle to speak to people in real life the way you do on here.
  13. I've alled you an idiot. I wouldn't really give a shit if you called me an idiot. I do take exception to the way you do speak to me, but basically, I susopect you're a sad little man, so I don't lose sleep.
  14. Would totally agree with this statement. Football would survive, but not the game we know today. Ha ha, touche.
  15. Being more commercially aware is not the same as needing TV (which they do). Idiot.
  16. I imagine you got q few beatings with your attitude to people UDT. Actually no I don't, as I doubt very much you'd have had the balls to speak like you do face to face. The fact you think that football TODAY is not the way it is directly because of TV just shows how deluded you are. You may be right that Sky needs football, but I'd argue they need each other. In fact, your own argument that Sky needs football just illustrates how popular it is for the TV viewer, and what huge business it is.
  17. Oh right, so they won't be wanting that anymore then.
  18. I never said anything about moving for a school place.
  19. I don't think you understand the word Necessity, that's all.
  20. Surprise surprise, Liverpool fail to beat Stoke. Again!!!!
  21. Whilst I agree that fixture changes can be a pain in the arse for teams, and managers, surely the managers need to realise that without the tv money, they would not be in the league they are in, and buying the players they buy, not to mention "earning" the wage they are paid.
  22. Ha ha, you go Quids! I don't hate cars at all, I just don't accept that people just couldn't live without them. Move closer to your job, or get a job closer to home. Send your child to a nursery closer to the other kid's school. I do sympathise, but you make choices in your life, and when making these choices, you consider the fact you drive. If you didn't drive you'd just make different choices.
  23. I'd also heard that the film ramps up the dementia side a bit.
  24. Bad lads army. The only reality tv I ever made a point of watching!
  25. Sling and stroller definitely easiest with a newborn and a toddler. We have P&T Sport, which we're happy with, and it's fine on buses. Absolute nightmare for stairs though.
