  1. I've just shown this to y wife, as we're having our second at Kings in July, having had our first at Tommy's. Very nice to read such good reports.
  2. I love it when people say they've had loads of PM's agreeing with them. We'll just take your word for it. I dont think anyone is picking on anyone here, but just let it go, rise above it, and all that jazz.
  3. Helena Handbasket is cool. Zeban seems cool most of the time, but to be honest, she seems to make a point of targetting HH's posts and it's all rather tiresome. Perhaps you should both choose to ignore each other (find one of their posts, click on the colon to the left of their user name, next to "posted by", and go fro there).
  4. This thread makes me chuckle. Everyone thinks their bit is best. What a surprise.
  5. Oh dear, my life is going to be over!
  6. Top stuff, the second EDF wedding! :)-D So, is brum a fireman then? ;-)
  7. When I picked up my daughter today, we were told that they have now recruited a new manager, who will be starting in July (after she's worked her notice at her current job), so that is good news. Also, my daughter had an accident today, where she fell over outside, and bumped her head. My wife and I were both impressed with they way they dealt with it.

    Hippies

Id have more respect for hippies if they weren't mostly students, with no real life experience. By the time they reach 30, they've given up on all that shite because they're trying to make ends meat, and pay the rent.
  11. Quite.
  12. My first thought was like Alan Medic, it could have been some medical condition you friend has not been aware of. That said, it is not out of the question that her drink was spiked. Where were you? If it was the back of stab and wine, I'd say chances it was a spiking probably increase.
  13. Mole, in the early years of secondary school.
  14. Just heard a thing on the radio about a new celebrity diet trend, for eating jars of baby food. It's being suggested that soe women may be going down this route, in order to look like their idols. When our little one was on baby food, the very smell made me gag, whether or not the diet is wise (it isn't), how can these people physicaly swallow that muck?!?!?
  15. Who is N / B? O is K... Ok

Is the Northern Monkey thing born out of the Hartlepool Monkey Hanging legend? That story always made me laugh.

Isn't the Spanish lisp something to do with the fact that King Philip had a lisp, so everyone started talking that way. Hence the fact that people in South America don't have the lisp... Or is that just a load of bollocks?
  18. No she wasn't. Ruth asked for advise about a specific issue, and was then told to stop moaning. It wasn't an opinion, it was completely irrelevant. If I started a thread about how I was finding it hard to play a particular song on the guitar, and asking if any other guitarists could offer any advise. I wouldn't really expect someone to come on and say "you should just be grateful you can play guitar at all, I can't", as that would be completely irrelevant. I don't really see how this is different.

My favourite crap accent is the northern bloke in the film Green Street, trying to be the leader of West Ham's firm.
  20. If your kids have no grandparents, that is a shame. However, it is a completely different situation, and therefore can't really be compared. It's easy to say "we'd be gratefull to have a grandparent around" but you've no idea how that would effect your family. We have been very very lucky with grandparents and child care, and I'm very gratefull. That doesn't mean it doesn't come with it's own set of issues.
  21. We often use the "Oat so simple" sachets, and either add a bit of honey to sweeten it up a bit, or chuck in some blue berries.
  22. I bloody hope not, for their sakes! Prison sounds more attractive quite frankly.
  23. Most of that is great stuff DJKQ, I must say. I do draw the line however, at evicting a family because they fail to control their wayward teen. That just seems a bit NIMBYish, shift them somewhere else for someone else to deal with. Surely, in these extreme cases, the family should be supported. Evicting the whole family just suggests a falier in my opinion. I still say the kids in those videos are just trying to look and sound hard. Disagreeable stuff, perhaps, but I certainly wouldn't lose sleep over it, and suspect that the vast majority of them will probably be totally respectable adults ina few years time.
