  2. take the "a" off the end
  3. good to have you back sweetie How am I wrong exactly? Are Southwark council cuts relevant to ED? Yes. Are they specific to ED? No
  4. ".and the bar bust on LL is still a runner" and so it came to pass - G&B announced they are closing for good
  5. I'm in awe of so many people forecasting an Arsenal win.. Such optimism
  6. "A moderator lounged this as not relevant to East Dulwich." more accurately, not specific to East Dulwich I suspect
  7. How long were you in the shop for? Seems very unusual to have your car done so early in the day in such a short timeframe? Sounds like I'm blaming you with those questions... Sorry. Did they take anything of value and what was extent of damage? Were you able to get home?

  9. The cards have been around a while now and while I can see lots of reports of "how to copy" etc, I haven't seen anything yet by way of "omg, i'm penniless because someone skimmed my card details from a contactless reader" so lot's of scaremongering but not a lot of real-world problems Not saying the warnings aren't valid - just surprised more hasn't happened on the back of them
  10. from the ukcardassociation site If I?ve paid with my contactless card and a London Bus inspector wants to see my ticket, what do I need to show them? The ticket inspector will want to see your payment card, to check the last four digits of your card and its expiry date, and match it to a list of those that have paid for travel on that journey. They should not ask for you to hand the card over or to see the security code on the back of your contactless card.
  11. t'would appear so http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tickets/26416.aspx "If you have used a contactless payment card to pay for your journey, you must show it to an inspector when asked."
  12. Here's my problem now I have bought new games on ipad and xbox - and I like them very very much But then I go and play Dark Souls again and don't play the new games I've paid money for Yep - still playing that one...
  13. edited because I hadn't realised I was 3 pages behind... silly me
  14. "that's not my..." series of books from Usborne (great books with bits to stroke and feel)" very popular with my little one as well but I never realised how many of them there are. Only so many ways white corrugated plastic can be dressed up - "it's too rough...." "It's tooo bumpy" ;-) Around that age I can't recommend sticker books enough - they seem to get so much pleasure out of them it's unreal. Best one I found was a bumper Pixar book in WH Smiths at the airport. That few quid has lasted months and months Caveat. If they get into it, you will end up going to work with bits of sticker on your backside, as they leave them everywhere
  15. Now we can look at some proper bullying http://bit.ly/W84Wj7
  16. if I was carrying stolen cards, telling people where I was travelling from and to wouldn't be a good idea
  17. Google Maps released as an app today for i06 devices v nice it is too on first impressions
  18. Sue - I think i*rate was being sarcastic and berating the iceland knockers
  19. " Oh dear, I sense yet more revolting Gooners..." and on the message boards, plenty of them are revolting, in boths senses of the word Unlike big games going out in the cups normally (where second string/youngster variations on the brand are out) this is a proper Cup Shock (even if lots of people, myself included, aren?t actually shocked at all) You just can?t take anything away from the fact that a team 3 divisions lower, with problems of their own, costing what is it 7,500 quid? (not millions) beat the strongest team Arsenal could muster. And they did it well ? they played well, pressed hard, moved the ball around The state of Arsenal is embarrasing. And any debate about Wenger is open to accusations of bias either way, but I?m firmly in the pro Wenger camp. Whatever battles he is facing with the owners/board he is keeping it to himself and punching above our weight. As soon as he goes, trust me, Arsenal will be in proper free fall He isn?t blameless of course ? purchases, selections are all open to criticism. But he is playing the cards he dealt withy, by and large And ultimately, it doesn?t really matter. Compared to our history, we are still doing pretty well given the realities of the modern game. Unless this (or a new) owner comes in with genuinely big money ( a war chest of 35 million isn?t a game changer these days) we are going to fumble along. And be subject to ever more criticsm. Which produces a fragile team. Which fumbles even more.. yadda yadda ?Something HAS to change? cry the fans. As if we have a right to win things. Things will change alright..
  20. What a sh***y situation - To have one inflexible employer is unfortunate but to have two is downright out of order An employer doesn?t have to grant an employee flexible hours in this situation but they have to give a good business reason ? if she is already working 10-12 hours a day I struggle to think what that could be Whatever the legal ins and outs, if they don?t want to play ball they won?t, tho?. Some excuse will be found It?s easy for someone on the outside to say this, but my inclination would be for one of you to find a more flexible job, even if it means a dip in earlnings (which given the cost of nannying wouldn?t be as bad). Plus you get to work for a more enlightened employer The main benefit of course is getting to spend more time with baby strawbs ? instead of now where it?s time you won?t get back ever if you are spending so long in an office I know all that?s easier said than done, and you may well find other help to deal with the current situation. But even then I would worry about being so beholden to employers so inflexible about something like this Good luck either way
  21. 16 mins according to TFL journey planner
  22. You won't miss anything much You can get a web version of google maps but its clunky compared to the app I'd stick with iOS 5 until it gets sorted
  23. without favouring private or NHS care either way, it's fairly safe to assume that if this "lapse" had happened at an NHS hospital, the NHS would be targetted in a way this hospital isn't
  24. could be worse http://news.cnet.com/8301-13579_3-57558151-37/australia-police-discourage-use-of-apple-maps-app-after-rescues/
  25. "The call was made and as a result somebody killed themselves." - direct implication - unproven. The same call could be made how many times to how many people - does it seem likely that most of those people would kill themselves if they acted in the same way? Of couse not And I think 21st century culture is the opposite of "no blame" - we live very much in a world where people are always crying for someone to blame It's isn't appropriate to ring a hospital and ask for records. Most prank calls are by definition "inappropriate". Again I'm not defending them , but you can't lesgislate them out of existence
