  1. butcher/newsagent combo would be on east Dulwich Grove I would guess Newsagent still there, Butcher not
  2. hmmmmm
  3. On reflection, I think you have me on that one Otta Also, now that the situation has been made clearer to me, I can really see what people are getting agitated about
  4. That was the one I was going to post quids... it was appropriated by Suede for another cracking debut album opener "So Young"
  5. Yup - I've got the point about secondaries and I'm trying to find out what Southwark's stated position on them is not sure about "as average pupil numbers fall across Dulwich" tho' - increasing number of primary schools increases supply, so demand spreads across these schoold. But if Harris have more than one of these schools how is that not going to cannablise them? What's in it for them?
  6. so leaving aside this site for a moment, if Southwark have factored in primary schooling for next few years what's their stated position on secondaries?
  7. aha - in a nutshell. Cheers samstopit
  8. so Harris are opening a another primary school which will cannibalise their existing school?
  9. So are people from Nunhead claiming they have to travel to far? Is that the problem?
  10. 1 and 2 might be factual l but I don't see them as problematic 3 - supposition surely? I don't know what the increase in primary going children is likely to be in next two years but it's unlikely to be insignificant. I can easily see a situation in 3-5 years where parents are moaning about lack of places 4 - shrug. I lived next door to that site for years. Would be happy for it to be a school. I regularly walked from there to Nunhead.- can't see a single problem of any note
  11. with all of the sub-clause, impact assesment and strident tone on this thread, I have a headache Could anyone, in a simple sentence or two explain to me exactly what the problem with the building of this school is?
  12. some terrific cliff walking along the coast in Devon And from what little walking I've done since moving to teh South Downs, I can't wait to tackle longer walks
  13. It's a group with 4 to 5 teams realistically chasing 2 to 3 qualification spots, whereas England group is just farcical
  14. I just woke the kids!
  15. That's not Nirvana's debut tho' ...
  16. IF he is an actual Labour representative - I'd say it's 50/50. If he is, I'd agree with you Otta. Absolute tool behaviour (and if he is teh one in DB&B's link, he's old enough to know better!)
  17. it's a free registraton otta - and if you register as I did it discourages copy and pasting. But it won'ttake long to do is it as good as DaveR suggests? Not really. Its ok... but doesn't amount to much insight or anything new IMO It does use lot's of cliches - "mainstream politicians" are "lofty" apparently. Never heard that before (and never encountered it when I or people I know have tried to engage with them)
  18. Councillor Charlie - do we know more about him? (apart from his pathetic response here) first mates question: " "Can you disclose if Harris make any > financial contributions to you or your party?"" James Barber's reply: "I can categorically state I and the lib Dems have not and I doubt will ever receive any support of any kind from Harris in any aw shape or form. " looks like a simple yes/no is beyond our Charlie
  19. do you think some people might catch up on their phone for a few minutes before tapping thru', to get automatic refunds in that case?
  20. it's not just Southern is it? All train cos going into LB are having similar problems
  21. What isn?t restful about peeling a few veggies, listening to 6 music and checking on the meat every so often? Genuinely can?t think of anything I?d rather be doing on a Sunday
  22. " rather than huffing off with my Guardian tucked under my arm tutting I WILL be pointing out how fooking stupid their action are" I thought I wasn't doing any of the former and plenty of the latter, for which I've been told I've been patronising? "Unlike SJ I'm pretty sure I've friends (and possibly family) who will say they are going to vote UKIP" Have I said I don't have no friends and family who would vote UKIP? If I have I stand corrected (as I've already bemoaned the fact on facebook) "which is more than the PM and the Leader of the 'progressive' party seem to be able to do right now" I thought this was the point. Otta has already pointed out Harriet Harman was dismissing UKIP voters, Brown got in trouble for calling a woman a bigot, and until UKIP made electoral gains recently leaders of both parties got in trouble for dissing UKIP voters. I wish they had stuck to those guns.. but you rpost seems to be made up of off-the-shelf cliches rather than what people are actually saying
  23. so - main parties. What ideas can they come up with to woo would-be UKIP voters? It would mean taking the list of UKIP voter grievances we could start with this selection http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-27584237
