  1. I picked Giles Cross in the WH sweepstake. I heard this guy on the radio this morning who predicts the winner by computer and has had success in recent years with one of his top three always winning. So I had a flutter on Treacle, Junior and Cappa Bleu.
  2. I was in their employ quids.....until yesterday. As I've left I don't mind referring to it. If you like football, there is nothing like going to work at a football ground. They are sort of like churches to me. The lush green grass and the empty stands full of hope at a week-end. Feck, they even filmed Eastenders there a few weeks ago. And then there's KB.
  3. I had an intersting encounter at Upton Park yesterday with the Spanish parents of 16 year year old boy who has just joined their academy. I was able to converse with them a little bit as I know a small amount of the language and they didn't know much English. I didn't realise that a club like West Ham would cast it's net so wide and indeed if the boy is good how he slipped through the net of the clubs in Spain. Am I right in thinking that clubs here can offer a professional contract at a younger age than in Spain? The parents were happy enough that they could get to London just as quickly as they could to Madrid (the example they used). On the football front it seems everyone there accepts they are going to be in the play-off's though last nights result may give them a slim chance of catching Southampton if they beat Brighton today.
  4. So lets say someone who doesn't speak English got some help from someone who does to start a thread in their language so they might meet other people in the area who spoke that language too. You'd would be against that would you or not? As for this comment, it hasn't happened in the years the forum has been running. Might as well say lets drop a nuclear bomb on East Dulwich and see how long the forum lasts! Are you a troll?
  5. It was upfront Razors. Just happens to be in a language you don't understand. If the thread was titled say 'West Ham Supporters in Dulwich' would that bother you if you weren't a fan? I sure it wouldn't. This isn't any different. It's just someone trying to get a group together of people with something in common. Writing it in Spanish would certainly bring to the attention of those it's aimed at more than if it were it English.
  6. I agree with that advice but you will still wonder what the package is and who sent it. Was your other name GG only ever used for the electoral role?
  7. I'd be pee'd off if I was a Chelsea fan given old Real and Barca managed to have their game rearranged due to European commitments. On the other hand the fixture kicking off at 6pm is all about the audience and thus money, so perhaps Chelsea of all teams should understand. They were built on money. It's not that many years ago they had less than 10,000 at the Bridge for a match.
  8. How can a comment about not liking the insulting of footballers for the sake of it turn into a thread about ball and belly size? Silly indeed. PS I'm a Doctor too you know, UDT. It's been documented.
  9. Alas Jon your price is too high for my pocket, as discussed!
  10. Was your remark about Frank Lampard not personal? You know him as well as you know me, but my remarks upset you. Meanwhile Fat Frank couldn't care less. I'm no Chelsea fan but it annoys the heck out of me that some people only resort to insulting players and teams they don't support. Childish. No need for a PM.
  11. If Lampard has been Arse's player would PD call him 'Fat Frank'? No. PD is tired and old I expect.
  12. If he is as divisive as he apparently is (remember the free kick against Sunderland), then who is going to want to sign him UDT? He can have all the skills in the world (which he hasn't)but noone to play with. His career is on a slippery slope before it's even got going. I think Mancini's post match interview was tinged with sadness. 'He's a good guy' he said, almost as if it was his adopted son he was talking about.
  13. Well done Quids. Was the secret of your success that you avoided Mick's bets?
  14. Balotelli has shown no sign of maturing over the last three years. What he has done to team morale at City would be interesting to know. SAF would not have put up with it that's for sure.
  15. You nearly covered the whole field, apart from Bubba!
  16. I found to my limited cost that golf is not a game for betting on. You could have founds reasons to back a dozen players. More like a lottery really.
  17. City are improving. Their points haul in the PL at the end of the season will show that. Not sure same can be said of Liverpool. Off the boil since they won the League cup and fortress Anfield is not what it was. I think City's downfall was Mancini's faith in Balotelli who is obviously not used to the concept of a team game. Liverpool's spending of ?35M on Carroll was too big a risk on an unproven player and seems in retrospect like a panic buy after getting so much for Torres. We've got it, lets spend it. King Kenny is not having the effect that was hoped for. Why United persist with Welbeck I don't know. I never thought Andy Cole was a great footballer but he scored goals. Welbeck doesn't even do that. I will miss Berbi if he leaves the English game simply for his natural ability. Hard to believe he was top scorer last season and didn't get a look in this year.
  18. On the premise that Pam is 50, I'd say Paul is koobtoosh.
  19. You may speak it Frankie, but do you make any sense? Anyway, w(here)tf have you been? Hola!

I really like board games but alas hardly ever get to play them. Subbuteo was once a great Christmas present when I was a kid. Had a version with floodlights and all. It replaced 'table football', a simpler game for a footie fanatic but great none the less at the time.
  22. Try to be more entertaining PaulK and give us all a lift. I would say AC that HGF is probably quite offensive to Christians given that their leader was nailed to a cross on this day. On the other hand as they know he will rise again in a couple of days maybe not so much. It's a bit like the Titanic 'unsinking' don't you think?
  23. I rather be playing QPR at home than Arsenal away................6 games to go then
