  1. .......... somebody didnt alter their clocks last Sunday?
  2. ... and many thanks by the way. Looks like South Ken here we come.
  3. Anna - accept! Kids are great, when they arent your own. I have 3 now - plus 2 siblings (which of course have to be treated as God-Kids to avoid tears). You can spoil them rotten, feed them brightly coloured sweets and fizzy pop and just at the point when they go completely hyper and vomit - hand them back. In the early days, with my first, I was worried that she was always shy when I visited. A learned friend advised me that small children are essentially Pavlovian. The simple presentation of a packet of chocolate buttons instantly dispelled all shyness, that and a willingness to play "Gee-Gee". Many years later I am still known in swathes of East Sussex as "Chocolate Button Mike" and have minor back twinges.
  4. Did anybody else stand bolt upright and salute? With a lump in the throat and tear in the eye (and a slight stirring in the loins). 90 years of the RAF today - according to my RAF Calendar ('fraid so). I remember the happy days when Concorde flew over at 7.15 every evening. Now that was loud.
  5. There is a BOGOF offer for the first month for registered Forumites and they are going to become a corporate sponsor. I had heard that they were taking over the Police Station - hence the proximity to the WI. They apparently have asked for much of the Police equipment to be left in-situ For some reason. I wonder if they would host a Forum drinks?
  6. Its now after 12 - so we call relax. Still, love the those flying Penguins on the BBC website.
  7. I have friends coming to stay with me this weekend. They have a 2 year old and a 5 years old. Where can we go that will keep the kids entertained? London - wide that is, not just ED. Ta
  8. I'd have a go - my brain is packed full of useless info. You REALLY need Mogs and Mr Mogs - what they dont know about stuff, is not worth quizzing about. Also - Floating Onion has an encyclopedic knowledge of kitsch pop songs of the 80s and 90s.
  9. I am in Altima Court on East Dulwich Road and overlook Oakhurst Grove. Some entertaining street theatre at times.
  10. Its what lunchtime are for Mockney! Have fun in your last week - always the best week in a job, the last one.
  11. Presumably at 9am there was a large energy surge when everybody put their lights and kettles back on, causing the back up oil powered electricity generators to kick in and so dumping thousand of tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere.
  12. Would you buff my balistrade please DM? It needs a good hard buffing mind.
  13. I wear surgical gloves DM. That feeling of latex on skin, ooooooooooooooooooh .............
  14. I cannot Hibbsy as I am not a Mum and have not one clue what to do with a prawn ring.
  15. I will not sully my finger tips with such smut.
  16. *Whispers* "Its Mrs DobbinNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"
  17. There is a lot of swearing on this thread - are standards slipping? Are we dumbing down? Poo Bum Willy people! Get a grip! Everybody has a crush on Mockney with his gentle ways, soulful brown eyes, dark Iberian looks ......
  18. *Wanders in clutching a card-board cut out of a donkey and a bottle of milk* *WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY??*
  19. Tsk - how can they serve "fantastic food" and not serve Vienetta? That is just silly.
  20. Still, good for a late night take away.
  21. I work in the world of management development and business consultancy. The Apprentice is rather like a cartoon of my working life ......
  22. I cant actually watch The Apprentice - it is too much like work.
  23. My real name is Palaeologus.
  24. Um, I was indeed reflecting on the rather bizarre implications of the press release, I dont think that even ED could support 4 identical restaurants. I am looking forward to staggering 10 yards to my nearest Italian restaurant, will they do take away pizza and Vienetta do you think?
