  1. If it helps to ensure the future of the Herne as a pub and is necessary for it's survival then I support it.As all this "it's for the kids" there is a huge park moments away with all manner of facilities which are inherently better than a pub garden which allows smoking in it's relatively confined area. It will pass as it is a well thought out and well designed proposal.
  2. Shame there is not a like button - consider this one !
  3. Sorry to hear it sounds like it is getting to epidemic proportions here in London. http://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/moped-riders-blockade-parliament-square-to-protest-against-acid-attacks-a3590651.html
  4. Or ring up Lidl customer services they arranged to have it cancelled with very little effort.
  5. No worries we should all read threads more carefully !!!
  6. To whoever has done one - many , many thanks you have done a wonderful job (alongside the sun , nature etc). When I first read the title I thought there would be another carping thread so really nice to have one that celebrates the good things.
  7. Previous comments have referred to it. "I was at Wilsons in Camberwell with Nigel Hine, sad to hear he committed suicide. I used to go to the Uplands and Palmerston (and also previoius to that the Magdela) and recall Shadowfax but cant remember seeing them play. I have seen Nigel play, was he in another local group called Tennis Shoes? Also does anyone know the surname of Darryl who also went to Wilsons?"
  8. 310 objections so far - still time to go - share freely and encourage others to object.
  9. Have just send in an objection and posted this over on the Urban75 Peckham thread. Are the relevant councillors and MP also aware ?
  10. Good luck it will be a great project if it comes to fruition. I imagine developers wouldn't like it as the path will have loads of folk walking at a high level who can no doubt look down into the properties.

    AA or RAC

RAC very good on the two occasions I've called them out in the last 4 years.
  12. Mahogany Rush Steve Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Sorry bsand, > > I don't understand the message what has Mr. Wilson > got to do with the band Shadowfax? Apologies didn't know Wilson's is a school in Camberwell - in my haste mistook it for Wilson's the bike shop in Peckham !
  13. Wahey a thread about the old ED and it's gritty memories and not some 'angelic upstarts' moaning about noise, abusive hired helps or berating the saintly James Barber. I remember the old Mr Wilson when he ran the bike shop - cantakerous old soul that he was but with 30 year old prices on his parts and an attention to detail that had you going back for more. A mate of mine's dad a Mr Harrison worked for him for many years.
  14. Worry no more - 24 hour surveillance for peace of mind. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X64BxEWEshw
  15. To my untutored eye the problem seems to be more the parents rather than the nanny. And who knows why the child is distressed I would hazard a guess not spending quality time with their parents rather some fairly random hired help could be at the root of it. And since the child is not suffering any sort of actionable abuse I would be hugely reluctant to get involved with the domestic situation here. Boarding school is pretty much child abuse in my book but good luck with trying to change that for our moneyed classes - my gut instinct is what you have outlined probably has elements of that.
  16. Nanny problems in East Dulwich - we are nearing peak parody now. I'm betting on Lewis Schaffer trolling the forum.
  17. If you had ever seen Lewis live then utterly outrageous is his norm. And Edinburgh is coming up , and he needs material for his 'show'. He is mercillessly trolling you now - and you are all falling for it. What is it you do with trolls - DON'T FEED EM. Rant over.
  18. Maybe this guy has something to do with it as I have recently added planters and pots to my front window sill. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,1832884

Can you ring 101 and report it as it will add to their criminal intelligence as they called it.
  20. Police came round - two uniformed officers very nice but said that is insufficient grounds for a pull but will be registered against the vehicle and the registered keeper. They said with a raised eyebrow that could be an innocent reason for his behaviour ! So that's that......
  21. Whately Road end , LHS before the sheltered 'modern' housing.
  22. A black male , tall slim build , clean shaven , short hair , age probably 28 , wearing black fashion combat trousers and white t-shirt - rang the bell next door then knocked on our door at 17:20. We had just returned home and opened the front window - he rang the bell of the next door previously. I answered it and he said sorry mate and then drove off quickly in a white ford transit reg no HG10 HCC. Police alerted and coming to interview me. Keep safe guys.
