    a joke

A man is alone in an airport lounge. A beautiful woman walks in and sits down at the table next to him. He decides, because she's wearing a uniform, she's probably an off-duty stewardess. So he decides to have a go at picking her up by identifying the airline she flies for, thereby impressing her greatly. He leans across to her and says the British Airways motto : 'To Fly. To Serve'. The woman looks at him blankly. He sits back and thinks up another line. He leans forward again and delivers the Air France motto: 'Winning the hearts of the world'. Again she just stares at him with a slightly puzzled look on her face. Undeterred, he tries again, this time saying the Malaysian Airlines motto: 'Going beyond expectations'. The woman looks at him sternly and says: 'What the f*** do you want?' 'Ah ha!' he says "Ryanair!"...

  4. No, I wasn't suggesting it was 'compo' of any kind, just thought it was an unusual arrangement. 'Pay as you play' deals are usually assigned to players who are either injury prone (Owen) and/or nearing the end of their careers. He was sold for non-footballing reasons, money didn't come into it. He needed to get away from the Mcr area, period. If he has finally sorted himself out, WH's problem will be keeping hold of him...

  6. England won't be seeded, but looking at the seeds (Brazil, Spain, Argentina, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Colombia and probably Uruguay) and teams alongside England in the second tier e.g. Italy and Holland, maybe France and Portugal, it probably doesn't make that much difference if we're seeded or not. I think that most sensible fans just want England to at least look like they care this time, something which wasn't apparent in South Africa...
  7. Try not to get too carried away EP, it's far too early to be making predictions. Can we at least wait until the draw's been made?...
  8. Get in England! I've been abroad so missed the WC games, but from what I've subsequently read we're there on merit. And how important was that 0-0 in Ukraine? Take note doom mongers...

  10. Hi Foxy, thanks for your post. The problem seems to have rectified itself in the past couple of minutes. I'll look into that link anyway, cheers. I'll be back to seek advice on the best way to back up email accounts!..
  11. Is anyone else experiencing problems with their Outlook/Hotmail email account? For the past 24 hours it's been taking yonks to load a page, and when it does the layout is all over the place. I've accessed my email from my lasptop and iPhone and the problem is the same on both. I've got separate work and social accounts which aren't linked...I have to log out and back in to get from one to the other, and both accounts have the same problem, which tends to suggest it might be a general problem rather than specific to my accounts. Any feedback much appreciated...
  12. I'm not THAT bothered...
  13. ????, you're looking at this far too negatively, I thought you were a positive/upbeat type of bloke. Look at it from a more positive perspective, see it as a challenge, just think of the kudos if you win the league despite missing a week. I won the league last year by 20 points, which based on my average score was nearly worth 3 weeks of points, so it's easily possible to win the league missing a week or two...

  17. The Otta Rule: If anyone posts their predictions on here before kick-off*, they will still count if they haven't entered them online. *Currently there is an approx 15 mins delay between the EDF clock and GMT, which will be taken into account. Tip: Predictions can be posted online in advance, currently weeks 8 and 9. It might be worth some players doing this, and amending their predictions closer to the actual kick-off date, as and when necessary. If they forget they have at least made some predictions...

  22. Enjoy it Mick, should be fun, but don't back it unless Rory is the jockey...
  23. Earthly Powers is a great read, and also doubles up as a handy door stop...
  24. Media love in with Utd? That's the funniest thing you've ever said, we're getting torn to shreds at the moment. Had to laugh at a Daily Mail 'headline' though, More misery for Moyes as Pogba and Tevez shine for Juve Tevez? WTF, how many years is that going back? :) Didn't see the Arsenal game but saw the goals, both very classy...
  25. Celtic had two great chances to take the lead just before Barca scored. Had they I'm sure they'd have gone on to win. Looks like they need to get a result at Ajax to stand a chance of getting through...
