  1. You may have won the battle but the war will rage on. Despite not gaining the required planning permission, Nero have proved to themselves (and other coffee chains) that they can have a perfectly viable business operating on Lordship Lane - build it and they will come. All they really need to do is buy-out an existing cafe/restaurant and they'll be back in business. Having to close the existing property will cost them in the short term, but to a big company like that it's small fry. What's to stop them making big offers to the people who run Dulwich Cafe/El Paso etc? Mark my words, even if they lose their appeal, they'll be back.

Sorry about that.

  7. Also, take lots of photos and publish your findings here: 419 Eater
  8. Did anyone see the posters some strange person used to put on a tree near the church on Melbourne Gr? Loads of ranting about how they were going to call the council about all the DOG MESS. It's clearly a burning issue in the local community.
  9. Take action now, ask questions later. Guilty until proven innocent that's what I say.
  10. Where to go for petrol now?! Steer clear of Tescos and Morrisons apparently...
  11. The violence has spread to the wildlife. While waiting for the late-running 8.04 this sunny morning I observed 2 Magpies bullying a Raven in a tree by platform 2. What has become of this country?!

  17. God I hate swimming. Flapping around in other people's piss, no thanks.
  18. ED Deli has been giving free brownies to the community all week.
  19. As Jeremy states there are a lot worse looking buildings around. I quite like the DKH Estate and I imagine it's a lot more pleasant to live on then some nasty 60s high-rise. Pity so many of them are boarded-up, hopefully it's just a temporary thing. I'm sure some of the inhabitants are great and I'm sure some of the inhabitants are not so great, pretty much the same as any London street, irrespective of class or race.
  20. Knock them all down and build a Bluewater-style shopping centre, beneath which they could build a network of underground bunkers for the current residents to live in.
  21. Do they use real Panthers as cabs?
  22. Surely that's dung?
