  1. Clearly not a waste of shop space as there are plenty of empty shops on LL.
  2. Anyone heard Ys by Joanna Newsome? Absolutley bonkers, but in a good way.

  4. To be blunt I doubt that these are master criminals intent on executing the perfect heist. If you are a crack addict you will strike when the need takes you.
  5. I'm sure if that really was you we'd have noticed you around ED before. The big net would have been a dead give-away.
  6. The Cure - check (up to and including Disintegration) The Stone Roses - check (Second Coming did have some good points)
  7. Saw Snow Patrol a few years ago at Brixton, supporting Grandaddy (they were ace). Just find them a bit dull I'm afraid. I've really tried with the new Killers and I do like a few of the songs, but it really peters out and the last 4 or 5 tracks are really lame. Guilty pleasures for me are Red Hot Chili Peppers, I know it's not trendy to like them but I don't care! Last album could have done with some pruning though.
  8. Congratulations Polly. :)-D
  9. QZ, I found your picture on t'internet: http://bear-blog.blogspirit.com/images/medium_child_catcher.jpg
  10. Can't see what's not to like about William Rose, nice meat and pretty cheap. GBK is good too, although pricey. Soda Bread from Irish Shop is nice. ED Deli is good but expensive. As for don't like, how about those blokes from the Cheese Block? What the hell is the matter with those guys?! They could at least pretend to like their clientelle... Undecided about Moxons, some items seem to be priced rather too high.
  11. Anyone got the new Arcade Fire album? I'm looking forward to hearing it. Trying to get back on topic..... I wonder if it's been reviewed in the South London Press?
  12. Just don't mention Gina Ford. Eek! I mentioned her! ::o
  13. How much does it cost to get in? I'd like to go some time but am often minding the junior Birdseyes.
  14. Yeah, they paid up pretty quickly as well. I thanked them by closing the account a few months later.
  15. http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/9489/tumbleweed2hb8.gif Apologies for the poor use of photoshop...
  16. Fnar-fnar. Used to go to the Mirash for Sunday-league end of season curry. They always stuck us in the basement, which stank of mildew. Food was nice though.
  17. Sometimes, stuff I've already read gets randomly marked as new again.

Helped himself to ?400 from the ATM, bank paid it back though, which was nice. He was on a mini-crime spree. Police reckoned it was a crack-addict fresh out of prison. He also held up a postman at knife point, forced some poor woman in to his car and drove her to the cash point and made her withdraw money. Think I got off lightly.
  19. Errr, a friend of a friend told me about it. Needless to say the link is NOT SAFE FOR WORK (for those of you who can't resist typing it into your browsers!).
  20. I don't really think it matters what route you take, it can also happen at any time of day. A few years ago I was mugged outside my front door (wasn't ED) at 8am! The nasty man claimed to have a gun and demanded my wallet and pin number, he said he'd be back to shoot me if I gave him a false pin.
  21. Why indeed. Probably the same people who felt the need to set up ratemypoo.com
  22. Three cheers for the sea cow!
  23. Your project for next week: Try out all the offers for massages (snigger) as advertised in the window of the newsagent next to Acorn Estate Agents. Then report back to the forum as to which offers the best massage at the fairest price. Pictorial evidence will of course be required.
  24. I think people are put off Chener books by the sign, Mrs Birdseye refuses to go in there! When I moved to the area I assumed it was a second-hand bookshop, upon venturing inside I was pleasantly surprised about how nice it was, and well-stocked. Must be hard for them to make much money though, what with competing against Amazon and the like + Waterstones' 3 for 2 deals. Anyway, wandering off-topic. RIP-DOWN NERO NOW! BOOOOOOOOO!
