Ed forum is a great local resource, thanks to Mark and Co. As for shops I can drive, bus or train anywhere to get what is not readily available here, or internet even. I knew what was here before I came, and the outlets have not changed greatly since my arrival so no complaints here.

I have cats and foxes, and the cat droppings are in the middle of the lawn, smelly, and soft. Fox droppings are around the far corners, hard white like small dog excreta. I would rather have none, but the only way it seems is to sell up, and get an abode without a garden.

Lenadee I hate to complain in or about restaurants or any other business, but I like value for money and if I get that at one place and not another I tell the forum about the good ones. The bad ones may be mentioned by other forumistas and I may add my version, but to say if you complain about the cost of a meal you cannot afford to eat out, is certainly not the case with me. I am a critic for good places much more so than the bad, but why not say if you have been ripped off by a garage, a plumber or a restaurant. If you place the facts on the forum it is for the readers to decide what to do about that information, just as a business may benefit from me discovering a product they stock via the forum, which has happened on several occasions, and I tell them so too. I have also taken print outs of threads they appear on and they are usually interested enough to ignore you, whilst they read it. I shall continue to praise the great and good, and slag off the toads who do not give good consumer service, negative comments are invaluable if sensible and honest, to all wise businessmen.

The petit chou(?) the cafe opposite somerfields do pricey but above average scrambled eggs.

I have had them for a few years as the death marks will testify, splats all over the walls.

Asset why so prickly, I would love to go to a veggie restaurant with selection not a restaurant that has one dutiful veggie dish to keep the customer quiet. I would like that restaurant to be near by. I don't eat meat several nights a week but am not a veggie but if there was a good restaurant that was, I would be nearer to becoming a full time none meat eater. Sorry if I have offended you in any way didn't mean to honest.

It seems Strawbs you are not alone because the numbers so far, are not great enough to approach any restaurant. Although I am not a veggie I would certainly go to a veggie restaurant for a change. The idea of a vegan menu would be great even if they only did it one night a week I would go for it, sadly there is not the interest shown on this thread to do anything more about it. Or is everyone away on holiday?

The women I have known are always cold below 90 degrees F. I would recommend a trip to Blacks the outdoor shop. Newcastle is not only considerably cooler than se22 but it is also a very draughty city. Some years ago I left london in shirt sleeves as it was hot and blue sky, got out at Newcastle jumped into a cab and said to the nearest outfitters so I could buy a padded jacket, it was soooooo much colder everyone was in hats coats and gloves, the outfitter was surprised to see me at 9am and asked me if I had forgotten to pack my overcoat.

Not the Irish shop, they do the best porridge and potato's to die for, and red lemonade.
