Weather issues in East Dulwich - Schools, Transport...
philiphenslowe replied to Mark's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I'm not allowed to leave my office until 5pm :o( My boss has been in Australia for the last 7 weeks + missed 'snow night' a couple of weeks ago so he doesn't believe it took me 3.5 hours to get from Covent Garden to East Dulwich -
My cat was shot Monday lunchtime (about 1.30pm) somewhere around Henslowe/Barry Road. He's currently being operated on as the pellet is lodged in his liver. It was reported to the police who were very helpful. I'm absolutely furious that there are idiots shooting air guns at all and sundry! :o(

I saw him filming in Westmoreland Road in Walworth the other morning surrounded by loads of Southwark Council binmen watching. The 176 driver slowed down so everyone could get a good look :o) -

Peter Perrett's been living at Crown Point in Norwood for quite some time. His son (also called Peter Perrett) is a friend of mine so I'll ask him about the concrete house. -

I was at the Jack the Ripper exhibition at the Museum in Docklands yesterday + whilst I was looking at Charles Booth's 1889 Poverty Map I noticed a long road near Grove Hill Road/Ivanhoe Road called Cut Throat Lane http://www.umich.edu/~risotto/maxzooms/se/seh1112.html http://www.umich.edu/~risotto/maxzooms/se/sej1112.html Can anyone throw any light on this please? Thanks

TfL only run the number 15 & 9 heritage routes. All the other bus companies are private.

I went to school with a girl from Ondine Road + her grandparents had lived in the road for well over 50 years + pronounced it On-dyne. I belive On-deen is correct though. Saying that, everyone up my way (Henslowe Road) has always said Wheet-lee Road for the 45 years or so my parents have been there. I've also heard quite a few people referring to Whateley Road as the 'tea gardens'. Apparently years ago it used to be really scruffy + people used to chuck the contents of their teapots in to the street from their front gardens.
