It?s blue bin week in my road.

I came home to find a dreaded ?missed delivery? card from Royal Mail. Is there still a long queue at Highshore rd these days?

There are at least two threads on the EDF about the postal service which will explain all too horribly what?s going on...

I went on patient transport when discharged from hospital. I was due to be collected from the ward at 2pm so had arranged for a friend to be at my house at around 2.30. I was eventually collected at 7.15pm. I asked them why they were so late and was told that they were the night shift. They then told me that they had dropped off a 91 year old man in a dark and cold flat at 1.30 am the night before. There had been nobody to greet the patient and there was no food in the house. I considered myself lucky to be delivered home when I was!

The sign says day and night. Such fun..

At the meeting, Craig Wallace said that every sorting office in the country had heard of the Sylvester road sorting office because they always needed extra staff. According to him, it?s the only one in the country with those problems which is why he decided to close it a month after arriving there!!

The notice has said the works are going on until the 31st November!

According to the manager, Craig Wallace, the posties aren?t using trolleys so operate out of vans. He clearly has no idea that many posties do indeed use trolleys.

My bank statements are now arriving around 10 days late each month since the move.

It saves on laundry!

I had a cat who decided that she wanted to be an ?only cat? and moved in with people across the road. I brought her home several times but she went back to the other people. After several months, she abandoned them and moved in with their neighbours and, with my permission, moved with her new family to Manchester. Cats do sometimes decide who to live with!

I?m with them and, although my monthly payment was put up recently, it?s still ?40 less a month than my previous provider.

I got on the 176 by St Martin in the fields at 3.30pm yesterday and arrive in ED at 5!

I finally received an item of post yesterday, posted on the 11 September...

Denmark Hill to Victoria is quick.

I?m still only getting post about three times a week and, on each occasion, it was delivered by a different postie. I watched one tip a big silver bag of post into his trolley and go through the contents on the pavement. Craig Wallace, the big cheese at the Peckham sorting office, told us at the meeting a couple of weeks ago that trolleys were not being used and that post would be back on track around now. I am going to email him today to let him know he was talking nonsense.

I have now had refunds for one parcel posted on the 13th September and one posted on the 7th October. And a very important document was half delivered today. How hard is it to push post right through?

I got on the 40 towards Dulwich Library a few days ago and it suddenly terminated at Ondine road! No explanation. The bus then drove up LL.
