  1. Ask the builders working on it...
  2. Why bother asking the residents if they are going to be ignored?
  3. I thought there had been a lot of opposition to the cycle route so are we to understand that it?s happening anyway?
  4. There was a loud party somewhere around LL in the area you mention. I originally thought it was coming from the Lordship but, as it didn?t stop at 11.15, I realised it wasn?t. I wonder if the people you mention were connected to that.
  5. The police keep telling people not to walk around using their phones...
  6. Breadcrum45, they installed an electric charging point in my street in a place where cars won?t be able to park when the extended dropped curb double yellow lines are painted. Re a BB, I was turned down the first time but got it the second time. However I am not ?disabled enough for a space?!
  7. Why would you buy a babychino in the first place? I couldn?t believe they even existed until I heard someone tell her child to drink his!
  8. I saw a GP there who said he was leaving because thepractice was so badly run.
  9. Freddie?s flowers now has a van.
  10. We have the same problems with the Harris primary school. Idling engines all the year round too!
  11. MarkT, I live near a school and watch parents park everywhere and anywhere. Double yellow lines are particularly attractive to them and disabled bays are a real magnet. I don?t think a CPZ would stop them either. In spite of that I don?t want a CPZ.
  12. Abe_froeman, Joanna said there would be 40% more parking space.
  13. I think a number of parents drive to school to drop their children off and then drive to work. So living near the school doesn?t mean parents don?t drive.
  14. Ruskin, locking your car door doesn?t stop your car getting broken into.
  15. Abe_froeman, I was told by Joanna, the spokesperson forthis scheme, that there would be 40% more space once the CPZ was in place when I went to the shambolic drop in session. I said that was impossible as the white lines would become extended double yellows. She insisted. I think she said it again at the DCC meeting.
  16. I saw a parking enforcement officer look at a car parked partly on the pavement on a corner with double yellow lines by a local school. The car was opposite the entrance to the school. The warden did absolutely nothing about it.why bother employing them?
  17. I know nothing about electric but could an electrician change the plug?
  18. I still cannot understand why Joanna who is the official who wants us to have a CPZ thinksthere will be 40% more space to park! It defies any kind of logic.
  19. Dangerous and thoughtless parking happens outside all schools. Parents keep their engines running both is summer and winter. They park on double yellow lines, in disabled bays. Parking attendants should do their job and fine any driver who breaks the rules. If that leads to confrontations, maybe taking a photo of cars and sending fines Through the post is needed. There is an obesity crisis among school children and yet parents want to park at the school gates!
  20. My neighbour?s have buildresin at the moment and they are ?reserving? a large parking space using bins 24/7. The builders? van onlyturns up for about 10 minutes in the morning, briefly at lunchtime and for about 15 minutes at home time. Today, the van didn?t park in the ?reserved? space and occupied the only available space. That did make me cross.
  21. There are currently three 4x4 taking up 5 car spaces across the road from my house. Why can?t people Park more thoughtfully?
  22. Sadly I don?t think closing roads will stop people driving. They will simply park in the nearest available street. I went to a meeting about the building of the Harris primary school and asked about parking as there?s was clearly not going to be any onsite parking. I was told that the catchment area for the school would be very small and a condition for getting a place was that children would all walk, cycle or use public transport to get to school. I said it would never work. It hasn?t. Children from far and wide go there and the parents park wherever they want. Nothing will stop people driving their children to school.
  23. Yesterday, during the day, there were several free spaces n my road in spite of a number of cars taking up one and a half spaces each. By 6.30pm, there wasn?t space for a Smart car. A CPZ would not solve the parking.
  24. Why do council tenants get free parking permits?
