    I know someone who got a parking ticket for parking on the dropped curb white lines outside his own garage.

    I live near three building sites too and was woken up this morning by a skip lorry removing a half full skip and replacing it with an empty one. The lorry went up and down the road several times before doing the swap.

    One of the brown bin collection guys said the new system would cause huge problems and he thought that the number of lorries would be cut due to ?a drop in usage?. I?m guessing the implication is job cuts.

    Celia, as far as I understand, brown bins which have not been paid for will be removed. As the lorry will still have to drive up and down all roads emptying the brown bins and the food caddies, I struggle to see how it will save money.

    We?ve seen a substantial increase in council tax, an unwanted CPZ is creeping in, we are going to be charge for the disposal of garden waste and parking charges in our local parks is being introduced. What else can the council charge for next? Oh well, we have the extended ULEZ to look forward to!

    As the trucks will still have to go up and down roads to empty the brown bins people have paid for, how does this save money? Will the same truck empty the caddies? It makes no sense to me.

    Redpost, I live near several state school including two primary school. I am horrified by how many parents drive their children to school, park anywhere that suits them. It?s not just a private school problem!

    So few people bothered to fill in the consultation so it was obviously going to go ahead. Just over 7100 in the whole of London did the survey and of those just over 1400 commented on the 40. The 171 will now terminate at the Elephant.

    James, How is the phrase ?stealth taxes? colourful? It?s true. We found out about the garden waste and parking charges from the EDF which is ludicrous. And I am pretty sure that in spite of the protests from residents and businesses, the CPZ will be introduced. I can think of far more colourful phrases than ?stealth taxes?.

    Check the electoral roll too. I got post addressed to someone who did not live at my address and discovered he was on the electoral roll registered at my address. The council and electoral roll people were very helpful but it did unsettle me quite a lot.
