    Rosetta, I have wondered that too. And why food waste can?t go in the garden bin is a total Mystery! I have now paid for the brown bin collection and have had to order a big food caddy as,until now, I have put anything that doesn?t go in the compost heap in the brown bin! Madness...

    I need an urgent appointment but have had to call 111 as the GP surgery phone cut out as soon as I was put in the queue. This happened 8 times this morning.

    I had a water metre installed when my last child left home and it cut my bill by at least 50%!

    TheCat, I agree. I live near that school and double yellow lines ?don?t apply if you are dropping off/picking up children? and I actually pointed out the ?no idling? sign to a woman parked in the loading bay by the school. She ?hadn?t noticed it.? Presumably her kids wear gas masks on the way to the 4x4 she was driving!

    I passed several cars today with their engines idling. I cannot believe how many parents park near their children?s school and leave their engines running. Drives me mad.

    On page 6 of the leaflet it states that they will not collect extra garden waste if placed next to the bin. I assumed that meant that they will not collect extra brown bags if you have a brown bin. What do others think it means as it is not clear to me..

    Well said, gumshoe. I also think that the council tax banding takes gardens into account. How many lorries will it now take to empty the brown bins and food caddies? The website says it will take six weeks to issue the bigger food caddies during which time we put food waste in the brown bin!

    I have read the leaflet and my understanding is that you have to buy the brown bags and can only use them if you don?t have a brown bin. They can?t be used by brown bin owners unless they are in the bin with the lid closed.

    If we can?t put food waste in the big brown bins, are they going to send ANOTHER lorry to collect it separately? The local councillors are keeping a low profile on this matter!

    The leaflet about how to get a sticker has just been stuck through my letter box. I don?t understand why food and garden waste now need to be separated! Their main reason for charging for the brown bin appears to be that most people in the borough do not have a garden. Isn?t this reflected in the council tax banding? We have until the 1st June to sign up!
