  1. Hiya, does anyone know what the preview show entails? is it a full show or just a quickie? tickets are ?7 each which is significantly cheaper than other times. thanks x
  2. how about a hairdresser who will come to your house? his own environment may be a more comfortable space - lots of recommendations for mobile hairdressers in the business section. good luck x
  3. one way is for us all to 'remind' non wheelchair users that this swing is not intended for them. I pointed this out to a teacher who was with a number if students on a trip to the park who were using the swing (maybe 8 -10 kids at once). she was a bit Embarrassedi guess but not nearly as much as she should have been!
  4. my second labour lasted all of 30 minutes, most 'memorable' moment was popping our son out in the back of our car and my husband wrapping him in a Rocky T-shirt. The other 29 minutes are a blur of primal screaming :-/ ..........

  6. Theatre Peckham is a brilliant all inclusive resource for kids, the teachers are lovely and the ethos is fabulous - a far cry from many of the other dance/theatre groups locally. I am delighted that Sainsburys have chosen them for their charity of the year!
  7. Just saw a bbc London report that there are currently no services from ED due to 'power problms'.
  8. that made me very emotional, what a lovely relevant piece x
  9. We took our daughter out for a couple of days (from Heber) for a much needed family holiday after a number of traumatic events last year. We briefly explained our reasoning in the request to the school (not giving any specific details) and the absence was authorised by the head. Even if it had been recorded as unauthorised we would have still gone and not lost any sleep about it, sometimes family time is more important....

I've never understood the argument about conviction in ones belief to be admired. I can think of a number of historical figures who had total conviction in their own beliefs but their actions based on those beliefs we're anything but admirable......
  11. I also have some you're welcome to borrow if still needed....
  12. Fantastic! Wishing you all lots and lots of luck with the trip to the States, would love to know how xavier's treatment is progressing but totally understand if you have more pressing things to do than report on here ;-)! All the very best xx
  13. which mothergoose? there are three - greendale, upland and waverny. The email for Greendale is [email protected]
  14. Its definitely not just used for staff, I think they just refer to it as 'the staff bus', I've used it and it was difficult to tell who was staff and who were patients. You may have to wait up to 20minutes for it though....
  15. Until fairly recently we lived opposite Heber school (on the Jennings Road side), no problems at all with cars/parking - there are a few more cars of course, but given you have to live within spitting distance of most primary schools to get in, most people walk to school rather than drive. I also used to love hearing the kids playing out at playtime - happy sounds! The only time we would get 'disturbed' was following the annual parent disco - shameful behaviour ;-) ...
  16. Definitely the ikea one - has stood much use/abuse over the last 3 or 4 years and still a firm favourite. Additional rolls of paper cheap from ikea too

Still same staff and decent menu on offer, we like it in there, unpretentious, fairly prices and nice staff and decent food
  18. They've also withdrawn sale of their weiners, apparently their is no evidence of horsemeat (unlike the meatballs) but they have been withdrawn as a precaution as they come from same Swedish supplier - as receieved in email from ikea earlier today....
  19. 60ft is totally manageable once it's in a manageable state, if that makes any sense:-\ . It took me 10yrs to get my 25ft garden the way I wanted it, and it'll be at least that again with this new one I reckon - depends if you like 'instant gardening' (and the funds to buy big mature plants), we don't but I kinda like the non-instant variety anyway...
  20. Our previous garden was 25/30 ft long, so 60 is an absolute luxury for us too (and also a little daunting:-/)!
  21. It really does depend on the size of the garden, ours is around 60ft (so not massive) and is north facing. We have sun directly at the back of the house from morning to early afternoon and then it moves towards back of garden for evening sun. I was nervous moving from a south facing garden to this one, but honestly I find it better - with two children the south facing garden was too hot to play in on some summer days where-as now there is always some shade to play in. Good luck!
  22. We're on dovedale and have neighbours at Fairlawn (slightly older children) and Goodrich. Neighbours applying for this sept are looking at ivydale too. We're at Heber but only just recently moved to.dovedale from Jennings rd. Good luck!
  23. I think this is a good thing - use that junction numerous times throughout the day (both as pedestrian and driver) and the current set up seems to work. Hopefully short term disruption for long term gain...
  24. just wanted to give a shout for the bread of life cafe at the bottom (top?) Of Barry road. It's utterly unpretentious, serves decent enough coffee., has a welcoming play area for little ones and the staff are very accommodating. It never seems to be that busy though and I often wonder if folk know it's there....
  25. Vinyl - sheep farming in Barnet, toyah Cassette - shakin' Stevens CD - you love us, manic street preachers Download - no idea My favourite format will always be the mix tape...
