  1. Smcc has a very active colts section and they are very keen to have girls join too. My daughter (9yrs) plays for them, summer training is just about to start, check out their website for contact details.
  2. That's it really, I'm undecided (actually utterly unimpressed and unconvinced). Better informed forum I'd welcome your views! Ta x
  3. My son goes to Heber and whilst the nursery is quite small, the teachers and support staff are lovely and have been fantastic in terms of increasing my son's confidence and circle of trust. I'm sure both nurseries would be equally good, are you likely to get into either of the schools for reception? That would sway me, in terms if nursery being a really good introduction to the school environment (and making friends with other kids who will go into rdception there too)
  4. Results are online now
  5. have you contacted SMCC http://www.streathammarlboroughcc.co.uk/ They have a thriving Colts section who train (depending on age) Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.
  6. Another recommendation for Jools, we had Jools run two fantastic parties for our daughter's 5th and 6th birthdays. Brilliant with the kids, very reliable and really nice lady.
  7. we rented a flat for a short period of time on rye Hill park - not in the big blocks (a smaller newish build block tucked away in the corner) but we found the area in general to be pretty quiet, there were often kids playing outside the blocks of flats which was nice to see (and hear). I think the issues will be the same as with any block of flats - there'll be decent folk and A-holes and probably not dependent on whether they're private owners or local authority tenants....
  8. Thanks All - bath water is great idea!
  9. Sorry if this has been covered before, I have a lot of personal papers which I need to destroy (too many to shred unfortunately) - can I burn them in a special incinerator bin or are there restrictions against it?
  10. I definitely don't want to give the impression that ed was 'crap before we moved here', it was certainly different to now but definitely not crap (otherwise we'd never have moved here). Places change, some of it's better some of it's worse. It was measurably more affordable and suited our style/needs probably more than now but we're still here, embracing the change!

Exactly why we moved here similar years ago. Tho' our road was 'bookended' with metal signs chained to lampposts which read "this is an anti social behaviour blackspot area". Woo hoo we could afford to buy a house 😉
  12. I know someone just off Lordship Lane, close to Heber junction who didn't get Charter ED in this first round. Saying that I know others who are planning to turn down their Charter ED place in favour of their other offer and so there will be places available at CED that haven't yet been allocated. 13. Heber primary school nursery offer half days and they do have experience with children with autism, I'm sure they'd be happy to organise a visit for you, the nursery teacher and teaching assistants (4 of them) are very good.
  14. Hello, just wanted to recommend both SMCC cricket club pavilion and Melody Disco for providing a fabulous service for our (not so)little one's 9th birthday party. The venue: SMCC Cricket Pavilion was ideal, we had full run of the place (including a fully equipped kitchen and a chill out/lounge area); Very reasonably priced (actually cheaper than anywhere else I spoke to in the area) and super easy/reliable to organise. http://www.streathammarlboroughcc.co.uk/ Contact Eileen De Ruyter for bookings (phone: 07949 792 306) The disco/DJ: Melody & Clair were fantastic, they pitched it just right (at 30 nine yr olds!), kept them fully entertained and engaged. Also very reasonable charges and really lovely people. Contact Melody on 07703844326. xx
  15. Same surname, no relation - not even the same clan of MacDonalds.... our kids go to same school s'all. Anyhoo, next week's episode is sure to be just as good (same director😉)
  16. Haha definitely NOT me! holloway Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > such as yourself kristymac1, perhaps.!?
  17. Last night's episode was directed by a very talented ed based director...

Depends where in SE15. We're by Peckham Rye Park and the 'as the crow flies' distance to Newstead Wood is under 9 miles.
  19. Are you just looking for a hall with outside access? East Dulwich community centre has a good space, dog kennel hill adventure playground hire out the space on Saturdays (the much of the play equipment not appropriate for toddlers but there's outside space for running around). Good luck!
  20. The skate park at peckham rye is dog free, good luck! X
  21. Different accident. I live round the corner and only saw the police taped off area. I do hope all involved are okay. I use this junction every day, mostly on bike but often in the car and personally don't find it any more precarious than others. Now that the crossing time for pedestrians seems to have been sorted its safer for them, traffic still travels in excess of the 20mph limit, perhaps more enforcement of that would be good. especially given the number of school children/park users that use it.
  22. The Dulwich Constitutional club hires out its bar area to members - have been to a couple of 10(ish) yr old discos there and they've been great - good space for the kids...
  23. Hello, I can recommend my friend's daughter, she's 18, at college, very responsible and very lovely. She's recently been doing a similar job for another friend who's children are 8 and 4 on but her college timetable changed this year and wasn't able todo the same days. Let me know if you would like her details and I'll pass them on. She also regularly babysits for us for my two children.
  24. I only use mine for pulled pork, shredded beef, lamb etc. Marinate meat overnight , brown off in the morning and slow cook all day... I'd love to be more adventurous, great thread x
