  1. Threenager- love it! Thanks for reassurance everyone. Little I also started by 16-17 months and it is at times so tough! Over the last few weeks it has been pretty awful. I guess being indoors so much due to weather hasnt helped. I have (hungs head in shame) lost my patience with him and snapped, nagged and have done most things wrong. I feel so guilty and rather useless as ultimately he is just being a child. I am just so damn tired that I dont always have it in me to be the patient, calm, reasoned adult and instead raise my voice or say no when really I could have let it go. I feel terrible as I is a sensitive little soul and he gets really upset. Sorry guys rant over.
  2. Can terrible two:s start early....?

  4. Hi ladies, I have only just seen this post and I would love to come if that is ok and not too late? Brilliant idea sillywoman! X
  5. We have just come back from the soft play at beckenham spa. Really enjoyed it.
  6. I am really enjoying chatting and exploring with my son who is nearly 2. So playing with his trains, lots and lots of reading, exploring outside and singing the favourite song over and over and over again. Baking and allowing plenty of time so that he can "help". In general allowing extra time for everything so that the most mundane chore becomes an activity. For instance in sainsburys we go "hunting for the bananas" counting them as we put them in the bag. Its alot of fun and I really treasure the 1 2 1 time we can spend together. I am not sure if there will ever be a number 2 for us so I am like you focusing on making the most of the precious time with the one I have.
  7. Great, Many Thanks - we will head there after nap
  8. So would alcohol sold in a Waitrose retail unit have less impact on "nearby gang activity" than alcohol sold from morrisons? How very odd. Jeremy - Thanks for the laugh, much needed.
  9. Nope, I just called they are closed today - sigh
  10. Thank you all, it is very helpful! From what I remember normal ferritin levels were 150-12. Mine was below 12. I understand that people within the normal range can feel pretty rubbish so I guess it is not surprising that I have not felt great.
  11. Thank you all, very helpful. The symptoms have been rather extreme. To the point where my employer has raised questions over my productivity and forgetfulness as it is so out of character. My other half has also wondered and has been worried as this is really not like me. I am like most working mums (ALL mums for that matter) running around like mad to fit everything in so yes I am stressed and with a non sleeping toddler (yes - Ellie he is still not sleeping...)I just simply put it down to life with a toddler. Ellie, just like you I experienced an inability to function, it is a terrible feeling. My eating habits have suffered and I am under investigation for menorrhagia so it does make sense. Will pay more attention to diet and get the supplements as suggested. Thank you all
  12. Hi all, I went to see my GP some time ago with severe tiredness, inability to concentrate, memory loss etc and the blood results came back with very low ferritin levels. Very low. I have no idea what this is or what I can do myself to make it better. The results were sitting at the surgery for 6 weeks (*edited to say that it was actually longer than 6 wks) so I was unaware that there was an issue. I only found out by accident that there was a subsription waiting for me for iron tablets. I will book in for a follow up in the new year but as it is likely to take some time I was wondering if anyone has experienced this or could point me in the direction of suggested reading. saffron - are you out there? :) Could these very low ferritin levels explain my symptoms above? When I went to the GP I felt abit silly talking about memory loss, "mind fog" etc and I think that my GP thought I suffered from depression. I explained that I did not think this was the case as I have had some experience of depression and anxiety following the birth of my son but that I felt that this was very different. Anyway - I was just curious to find out if my symptoms could be a result of the above. It is noticable to others as my employer has raised questions over my productivity levels and forgetfulness (not like me at all) and my other half has expressed concern as well.
  13. No advice but CONGRATULATIONS!! Have been wondering about you:)
  14. Never heard that expression myself, thankfully. My mum once said to me "you son will sit/walk/talk for the next 80 odd years - God willing-so really there is no rush with any of it". One of the most useful things she has ever said I think.
  15. Ladies, I am crying my eyes out, mascara all over my face and I am at work:) When baby Ivydale was born we were kept at kings following complications for ages and had a pretty rough time with it. My other half still sings "we fell in love in a hopeless place" by Rhinanna or similar. A pretty rubbish tune but it wells me up everytime I hear him sing it with his put on gentle soothing voice. It is just something about this very masculine man making a huge effort to be so gentle that blows me away. Oh and besides, noone can make light of a rubbish time like my other half.
  16. Oh and I use Aveeno bath oil in his bath too and it is gorgeous. Not sure if Eucerin is available in the UK but if so they do a lovely shower oil that I use if I have it at home. Then follow up with olive oil or coconut oil on any rough patches.
  17. Second Aveeno, it is lovely. I also use olive oil and sometimes coconut oil on my son. Both my son and I are very sensitive and react to most body creams such as Johnsons, Nivea and Oilatum but we are both fine with Aveeno.
  18. Wow thanks so much everyone! Looks like a busy weekend x
  19. Just wondering if anyone would know of any Chrstimas fairs this weekend?
  20. I posted on this last year when my son had an accident whilst in the bumbo. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?29,956536,956612#msg-956612
  21. I have emailed James Barber who has escalated it further on our behalf. Have not had a response yet.
  22. I had this today. Started at number 7 and still waiting an hour later. Then it turns out my blood results have been sitting in someones inbox for 10 days. Not impressed.
  23. Hi Cathy, Great to read a response with some reassurance from the organisers. It was also a lovely gesture to see that you offered to refund the entrance fee. I am sorry that we jumped to the wrong conclusion but your reply has completely put my mind at rest. It is just annoying/frustrating/disapointing when you spend time attending something in good faith which then turns out to be something else entirely. Not your fault, and on the whole it was a lovely day which was well organised and well run. The highlight for me was running into the lovely lady at Mothersinc. She looks amazingly beautiful(best advert for a facial ever) and is so lovely you think nothing of telling her your lifestory after a 2min conversation....
