Massive Moving Baby/Toddler/Child Things For Sale
midivydale replied to melissasmith's topic in The Family Room Discussion
GONE?!?! Are you kidding me? It would be hugely helpful if someone organising the sale responded to this. I am utterly pissed off and feel like a mug. I responded to these posts in good faith, turned down other good offers to get my required items and organised childcare for my son who was unwell. Nothing makes me more mad than people taking the piss with my time. A response from the organisers to clarify their position on this would be most useful. -

southwark council service charge
midivydale replied to fredbear's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
We have also been presented with the above bill and I fully intend to dispute it. Many Thanks PeckhamRose for posting the details of the next meeting. Can we just come along? -
I would also recommend it BUT my consultant adviced me against relying to heavily on any ovulation detecting devices so just bear that in mind. As someone said above, checking your temperature etc are also effective. There is a great book called taking charge of your fertility which was a very good read for me. Best of luck x

Boots ad: "an extra hour of me time"
midivydale replied to midivydale's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Being abit of a control freak I love routine but that is just not how baby Ivydale roll. Having to let go of routine and "go with it" has been one of my hardest lessons of this parenthood thing so far. -

Yes another 4 sm start here. Later bedtime doesnt work for us. At the moment baby Ivydale goes to bed about 6.30. He is so tired by then bless him all he wants is to sleep. He wakes at 5 (4 post clockchange) regardless of time he goes to bed. At leasr if he goes down at 6.30 I can do some house work and still get an early night. Then when he wakes up we cuddle, read books etc and at least I get to see him. Dont get me wrong, it is still torture I am just trying not to dispair and do the best that I can with it. -

I would second the book "taking charge of your fertility", it is a very interesting read. Also sending a cyberhug. Ttc can be such an emotionally charged time, hang in there . X

Hi all, When baby ivydale was a baby I did alot (too much probably) reading on babies, developments, what to be expected etc. it wasnt until I got talking to a friend of mine last week that I realised that I have not read anything on toddlers. If anyone can point me in any direction of good reading on the toddler years I would welcome some ideas. Light hearted or more academic/scientific all suggestions very welcome. In particular on raising boys, "high spirited" children, attachment parenting, raising bilingual children etc. Have a lovely weekend all x Edited to say ds is 19 months

We are having these discussions in our home too. Tough one. I would love a house and a garden for ds and to achieve that we would have to move. But i love the area, we are two commuters with a 10 min train journey to work (from Brockley) and live opposite Ivydale school and i have made so many mum friends I would hate to leave. My main hesitation for leaving is lack of diveristy and fear of racisim/ discrimination.

Good demographic? What does that mean?

Asquith nursery Peckham Rye - experiences of baby room?
midivydale replied to monkeymoo's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi james and welcome to the area. There is plenty of choice although waiting lists are often long. Southwark has an extensive list but I have listed a few for you below. Asquith Mother Goose Colourbox Puddleduck Little Climbers Magic Minds Depending on where on ivydale you are and station you use for work there are also options in Brockley that could be worth looking at. There are also many childminders and nannyshares in the area. The childrens centre at Ivydale School is a good place to find out more. Good luck! -

Buggie thank you so much, I truly appreciate it. Glad to hear little bugglet loves it there. I would love to meet if you have the time. Thank you so much for the offer. -
Hi all, Does anyone have any recent experience to share? My son is due to start as soon as he is two. I have visited twice and really like it. Staff and facilities seem great, manager seem excellent. Have spoken and taken references from other parents. My main concern is that he will be the youngest by a mile and all the children are in the one room. I have images of my little toddler being "on his own" with all the "big children". I know it is silly to try to predict these things but I am concerned. I have raised them with the manager who has been v reassuring (and patient) but I am still in a "what if" mindset. Does anyone have any words of wisdom?

midivydale replied to sedm's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Werdna101, that is REALLY useful info, thank you to you and all the others that have applied. Truly appreciated.Honoroaky we seem to be in the EXACT same position, we should compare notes, share tips and I suspect tears of frustration. I will def join LAS2000 and attend the meetings. Thank you again so much everyone for taking the time to respond. It is very kind.
