Warning- Bumbo seat danger & product recall
midivydale replied to midivydale's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Yes it is awful, a big shock. I have used mine on the bahroom and kitchen floor when i am in the shower, washing up, cooking etc so i have always been supervising him in it. He managed to wriggle himself out of it in a matter of seconds and fell on our tiled floor. He is fine, he has been checked over and all is well but I was appalled that these seats are so unsafe. Granted, he is a very wriggly and active boy but even so, this should not have happened. Instructions were followed to the letter and ds is well within the recommendes weight limit. Thank you for posting the recall notice. Mine is now in the bin, way to scared to ever useit again. Very relieved that ds got away with a little bruise as according to the recall information some babies have suffered concussion and skull fractures as a result. Horrid Just be careful mums and dads! C x Sorry for typos, on iPhone and too tired to correct them -
MUM running club?? Who fancies it??
midivydale replied to MOTHERSMEETINGS's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hey, are you ladies doing this still? If so is there room for a newbe? -
Just a warning re the above. My ds who is 6mnths fell out of his today. Of course he was on the floor and i was doing the washing up just beside him but the floor is tiled and hard and it gave me a fright. I have thrown mine out and have since read the recall of this product on august 15th. I just so wish i had seen it sooner and never bought one. He was not safe in there. He was not on a raised surface and not unattended but still wasnt safe. He is fine, but I am very upset that this has happened, so dangerous. Be careful and read up on the recall process if you use them.

Does it really matter if you only have 1 child?!
midivydale replied to SBot's topic in The Family Room Discussion
If the waiting times are very long at kings and it is an option you may find that going privately would provide you with answers quicker. A thorough investigation would include blood tests, internal examinations, ultrasound and dyetest. We went down the private route to start things off and i would really recommend it if that is an option. Best of luck, and it is so hard not to worry. I was an only child until i was 13 as it took so long for my parents to conceive again. To be honest, i loved being an only child. Having my relatives undivided attention was great. There is this perception in society that only children are lonely i dont agree. Best of luck! -
I like Nils as well. We actually named our son something else (springbabies ladies know:) ) but as no one in our family liked it i changed it in my postnatal hormonal state:) we even got Congratulations card with the old name on, oh dear. I still love the other name but the one he finally got really does suit him. This thread is making me really broody.

iCandy Cherry v Babyjogger City Mini (4 wheels)
midivydale replied to Salsie's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Tough one but yes i would get the parent facing option. My lil one is very active and loves looking around but he does prefer it when he can see me (as he can when using carseat). So many of our friends have it and some dont mind the non parent facing factor at all so very individual choice. But again to answer your question, Yes i would. -
Otto is lovely and emil was on my shortlist too. I love the biblical names for boys.

iCandy Cherry v Babyjogger City Mini (4 wheels)
midivydale replied to Salsie's topic in The Family Room Discussion
In my opinion baby jogger city mini. I have both and for us icandy has been useless. Ds hated it from the start both carrycot and the seat version. Gutted as i spent a fortune on it in john lewis. As i got desperate when ds was 5mnts i ordered the bjcm but the 3 wheeler and its great. Wish i had got it sooner, could have saved myself ?1k! Only downside is that ds cant face me but with the 4 wheeler you wont have that problem. In my opinion, stay clear of icandy. Good luck Oh snowboarder just saw your post re the new version, sounds great! -
Aaron, Zacharia, Arthur, Hugo, Gabriel, Victor, Nathaniel, Emmanuel, Pontus Fuschia, you have come up with some beautiful names.

Ellie i have been thinking about you so nice to hear your update and to hear you have a diagnosis as well as some grandparental support. I would second claire kedeves at kings. I hope your lo gets seen quickly. We used claire at kings but then opted to go privately with mr patel/kate fisher (who both do the tounge tie clinic at kings) at their thornton heath clinic as the ref process was long on our case. There are details on the forum, but i can pm them if you need. In the end it was decided not to snip my ds as we by that point had too many other issues such as severe cmpi and reflux, milk production issues, mastits and other health issues so i was advised to put ds on neocate. As such we never went through with procedure but i can truly recommend the services of kate fisher and claire kedeves. The offer of help still stands of course, hang in there and hope you get it solved quickly. C x

midivydale replied to fabian's ma's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I posted a similar question a few weeks ago and got advices to get the baby jogger city mini. I love this pushchair, let me know if you would like to try it. -
I would highly recommend the place next to the old soupdragon on lordship lane. I cant remember what it is called but fantastic. Took my son at 10 weeks old, no appointment, 2min job, ?6, AND lovely photos!

midivydale replied to Strawbs's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hey, Is it reflux related or has weaning been sucesful until now? I thought baby I's reflux was under control but since i have tried weaning he keeps vomiting, everythig i give him comes up again so have had to stop weaning for now. Could that be it? -

small for dates (26 wks pregnant)
midivydale replied to buttercupSE11's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hey, Please try not to worry. I too had to have several growth scans which were very traumatic at the time but all was well in the end. What i would say is that kings as well as some midwives are very cautious when something is not bang on 50th centile and it does lead to extra worry and stress for the parents to be. I was told our baby had femur bone below 3rd centile which was cause for concern...turned out lil guy jus has short legs but the worry was truly awful. Stay OFF google and even though it is impossible not to worry try to seek comfort from the fact that they are thorough and on top of things. X -
Stackars liten, see you next week! Xx
