Europe off the beaten track- holiday ideas?
midivydale replied to Minitoots's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Sweden! West coast and east coast alike are stunningly beautiful and it is a very childfriendly country. I am bringing my 4mnth old tonight to meet his grandparents for the first time! -

natural family planning contraception
midivydale replied to happynanny1983's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I have used the persona fertility monitor to assist wih the natural approach as taking hormones is not a good option for me for medical reasons. This method is not perfect especially if you have issues with ovulation regularity (i have pcos so would fall in this category) but may be worth looking into. -

Yes i totally agree that you get what you pay for very often. I have very sensitive skin so always need to struggle to find products that suit. Most of the time that means spending more Which i dont mind if i get results! Its the very costly mistakes of all promising miracle cures (tend to fall for them all) that i am trying to avoid. I have a tip a french brand avene seems to agree with my skin and i use bobbi brown foundations and blushers. Not cheap but worth it for me. Also found lloyds pharmacy great as they do half price regularly so i try to stock up when the products i use are on offer. -
What are they? Thought about this today as having to seriously reign spending on these things with my not so spending friendly SMP. So it got me thinking about what products that really make a difference and the ones that dont. Please share your tips with me. Anything goes but a special interest in cheap and multitasking products that are fast to apply. Have never been someone with a 4 step evening cleansing routine... Edited to say that clearly i wash just not the pre cleanse, cleanse, toner, serum, moisturising routine.

Tell me about swaddling............
midivydale replied to bobby's bear's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I swaddled on advice frm midwife pretty much straight frm the birth, both for naps and nights in the early days. We had a long stint at kings following birth and i became abit of a swaddling expert (thanks to my community midwife) after a while even helping other mums to swaddle:) Very early on though ds (Now 16 weeks) started to hate it with a passion:) I tried so many different blankets (have them mostly unused if interested) but finally had to accept that he just doesnt like it. He hates slings as well bless him. -
Hey strawbs, Sending a big cyberhug! Im sorry i cant be of much help knowledge wise but just wanted to give my sympathy. Let me know if you fancy a chat/walk/cuppa! C x

They do look fab (missed looking yday). I think you have done a great job! Also meant to say yday that the swedish version of these are not very sweet and they are very breadlike in texture. The versions that are more like danish pastries in texture and sweetness are an international modified version:) Yours look lovely. I remember my mum saying that there is no such thing as leaving them to rise too long. Will pm the recepie i use just need to translate and work out measurments uk style first:)

Calling all experinced ladies out there. My ds is 4 mnths and im really struggling with his pram. Icandy cherry. He hates the carrycot (cant lie flat due to reflux) but can not sit properly yet without the carrycot.. This stuuupid (for us) pushchair has just turned out to be impossible for me to use. The only way i can use it is with the car seat, clearly not ideal. I need a new one ans will go second hand most probably. But what do i do? I dont want a carrycot this time. As we will be flying alot it would be a bonus if it can fold without taking the seat off. Shall i just get a mclaren maybe? Or a second hand bee? I dont know, help please? Any advice on flying with prams/strollers?

Hi all, Can anyone recommend any books on weaning. Any other tips would be great. My lo is not ready yet but the consultant has adviced we start earlyish due to reflux. I am abit nervous as we finally have reflux symptoms under control and a very happy content baby. We are also likely to have issues with allergy as lo is cmpi and on neocate. Anyone had experience of this? I just want to try and prepare....
