  1. Hi all, Baby Gabriel and I are finally back home after a long 5 days on the post natal wa (we had a difficult birth and both needed to recover). I just missed Rosie and another 'one of us' spring babies ladies who I knew was booked for Wednesday ;-). but was lovely to bump into Kitty sailing and her beautiful newborn. If you see this, I was seriously impressed by your fresh faced appearance just hours after birth!! It was so nice to see a familiar and friendly face on the ward. Please also could you say a huge thank you to your lovely husband who supported my partner and I as we were waiting outside the consultants to get the news of Gabriel. His kind words lifted our spirits and was just what we needed to hear at the time. Please could you say Thank you so much to him as I wasnt really with it at the time. I feel so blessed that after the emotional roller coaster of the last week we are finally at home as a family! I keep checking in here for updates and can not wait to meet you all. What a journey we have all been on together. C xx

  4. I would also write to her and gently say that you are there for her- on her terms when she is ready.i think it is important to respect privqcy when it has been asked for, i also react like this in time of grief.a phone call however well meaning can feel intrusive when in mourning whilst a letter/card is much more gentle.
  5. Hey all, i hope you are all well and like tupps and lochie i am afraid as due date gets closer i am getting more uncomfortable by the day. Looking forwars to seeing you all "on the other side". Also ladies stay safe, i was mugged last sunday in broad daylight at nine months pregnant when on crutches - so stay safe. Cant wait to hear about the next few arrivals and to see them all. Caroline x

  9. Hi all, I am currently in "talks" with my employer regarding their maternity policy and conditions and to assist me I could really do with some examples of what conditions other employers in London offer. I would REALLY appreciate if you could share this info with me by sending me a PM. Just company name and a brief explanation ie "ABC Company, 30 weeks at full salary". No need of course to give me any names or personal data. I am interested in hearing from all sectors but in particular if you work in banking/financial services in the city. And for those with husbands in the city - if they would like to share the maternity policy of their company as well I would be very grateful. I would really appreciate your help on this. I hope you and your bumps are all well! C xx

  12. Pommie, make sure that you take the metformin on a full stomach but not with fatty food. I found that food that were very rich and creamy made it worse so made sure I avoided them. Also I was advised to up the dose in stages to allow my body to get used to it, one week with one tab per day, one week with two etc but am not sure if you can do that?
  13. Hi pommie, I am on metformin, how have they told you to take it? I have found that if taken with food throughout the day I found the upsets minimal and the side effects subsides after a week or so. PM me if you have any questions.
  14. Hi all, I am "working from home" a few days a week over the next couple of weeks until my maternity leave starts. I am so ready-why did I ever think it would be a good idea to work until 39 weeks? Would love to meet up those of you that can during the day (pelvis permitting). I am home Wed and Thurs next week if anyone fancies it? Caroline xx
