Good luck tmrw! We are there too for our reflux baby , may see you there? C x

Hi, I so feel your pain and just wanted to offer support! I am in the exact same boat as you (we also share reflux hell). I have been to see gp and like lochie above have been referre to maudsley and offered medication. What i have done just to get through is asking oh to take care of baby say 8-12. I then take earplugs, eyemasque and yes a sleeping aide. I then get a block of four hours which i can get by on if needs be. Then after mIdnight like lochie suggests i just rest. It is still leathal and awful but at least i get some sleep. I share your Pain. I am convinced in my case it is anxiety related so hope that once i have cracked that and reflux hell hell, things will get better. Until then i do what i can to gt by. Pm me if you want to chat. X

Reflux in infants - advice Please
midivydale replied to midivydale's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I think a support group is a great idea! Meeting strawbs and getting loads of reassurance made the world of difference to me. Not least as i got to see proof in her gorgous, thriving, non crying baby that it does get better and there is light at the end of the tunnel... I am so grateful for all the lovely replies and pm's i have recived. We had another bad night but fingers crossed we will get there. Caroline x -

Ladies- 5 1/2 hrs!! 5 hrs!!! And when he woke it was with a gurgling, heartwarming gummy smile rather than his normal whaling. He went down at 6.30 and i got his bottle ready for 8. Me and hubby were waiting and waiting, 9,9.30,10... Just before midnight he woke up!! I have had dinner! I have watched east enders! Now let me not get carried away but i good heavens. 5 hrs!! Shame i didnt sleep hey:)Just thought id share the happy news after last nights misery. -
Bugaboo Bee or Icandy Cherry
midivydale replied to missyelliott's topic in The Family Room Discussion
We have bought the cherry for our six week old son and im v happy with it. I didnt feel comfortable without a carrycot so baby could be flat which swayed it for me. In hindsight i think bee would have been better as ds has reflux and cant lie down flat anyway. I think bee is eAsier to collaps as well if space is an issue. -

What if it never gets better? I know its early day but what if the meds will not work? The lack of sleep is killing me and My heart breaks for my poor baby who is in so much pain. How do you keep going with no sleep? Apart from coffee how do you get through? The 'sleep when the baby sleeps' advice makes me want to scream. I dont know what else i can do. Sorry for ranting im just so damn tired -
Yes hollie if you see this i agree with the others. For me when i had the drip i had the epidurial and it was the right choice for me. You are in great hands at kings!
-
Good luck hollie! I knw frm ur posts on spring babies hw u have been waiting! Your partner can stay, make sure o bring food for him. Try to eat and drink and rest when you can! All the best and you will see your little one bfore you know it. There is a 7 floor staircase at kings which i was walking up and down, i then went from 2 to 10 cm in under 2 hrs :) C xx

Oh i hear you! I am still in the Pull on whatever is nearest stage usually tired leggings so cant help on the clothes front.. I have today ventured Out for first ime without baby and had eyebrows threaded and eyelashes tinted, made me feel more groomed. Also have a tinted moisturiser (laura mercier or bobi brown)and a cream stick blusher (bobi brown) in in baby changing bag so when baby is asleep whilst pondering pr park i can stop and quickly dab it on, takes two seconds! Sorry not much in terms of help. My hubby said when i asked for reassurance about looks that i was the still the most beautiful woman in the world-ON THE INSIDE!!! Made me burst into tears in my sleep deprived hormonal state... Hope to see you soon C xx

Reflux in infants - advice Please
midivydale replied to midivydale's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi all, Wow i feel like i have my own online support network here- thank you all so much for everything. Read a very interesting thread on little refluxers website re association btw candida and reflux. Struck a cord with me and have sent hubby to healthmatters on lordship lane for infant probiotics. Maybe that could help any of you guys too? C xx -
Reflux in infants - advice Please
midivydale replied to midivydale's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Update and more advice please... Saw consultant today and we are upping the meds, now on domperidone, and omeprazole. Anyone had that combination before? Also turns out ds was weighed incorrectly last time about a 2lbs out which means his doses have been to low. Worth upping exisiting meds before moving on? Comments? Also dr vademalayan prescribed omeprazole in syrup form but warned as its dear most pharmacies dont sell it so hard to get hold of. Does Anyone use the syrup and if so would you Know where i can get it from? Just thought id ask before i run around london with screaming baby... On a sidenote- there are a couple of ladies who have not replied here but have pm'd me re bf. Please could the breast feeding police kindly stop? This thread is a cry for help re reflux. Private pm's about bf and how me 'putting ds on formula is the cause of his reflux'is not helpful or productive. The decision to stop was taken by medical professionls for reasons that were medical - not that i should need to justify that on a forum... I can assure everyone that like every mother on here i am doing what is best for my son. Any further pm's along the lines of the above will be reported to the moderator. To the res of you- i cant thank you enough for your kind replies and support. I hope that i will be able to return the favour one day. C xx -
A low gi eating plan will help you whilst keeping bloodsugar stable and you will feel full for longer. Work on your core muscles ( livingroom floor with baby as weight does the job nicely). Then agree with walking. I am walking for hours each day as i have a poorly baby so its the only way he will sleep. Also i do squats etc while holding hi And we do tummy time together. Only a few seconds mind as thats all we both can manage for now. Good luck and go easy on yourself. Build from inside out ie core pelvic first etc. C xx

Calling fellow reflux mothers... Consultant has recommended that lil one is upright as much as possible. I carr him most of the time as he isnt very happy in a sling but consultant a good quality bouncy chair. We have one but baby son is nowhere near as uPright as he needs to be? Any ideas would be greatly apprciated.

Emmy dear god- you are amazing!what a story to tell your twins when they are older! Congratulations- you are one strong woman- cant wait to meet ur lil ones when you are ready! -
Yep me again... Baby and i have both been treated for thrush for 3 weeks now and his doesnt seen to clear. His groin has cleared and mouth as well but what concerns me most is his neck! He looks so sore in a his little creases and they wont go away. I am tying so hard to keep the area dry but it is very difficult as somehow despite using bibs etc milk always end up in these creases and of course fungal bacteria thrives in that. I am trying to clean him with boiled water and cottonwool then pat dry and put canesten cream (prescribed) but it is really not getting better. Any advice? Caroline.

Reflux in infants - advice Please
midivydale replied to midivydale's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hey all, No sadly rest of night was rubbish- sigh. It does seem that he is in less distress though when feeding so that is an improvement, even got a gummy smile this morning which melted my heart. Still cant put him down to sleep though but one step at a time i guess. Rentadine may take A cew days to work? He does seem to take more milk and feeds every 3hrs rather than 2 so that is an improvement. Was told to feed him 5-6 times a day only and we are nowhere there yet. But progressing down from 10-12 or so it seems. Cx -

Baby has now slept for 3 1/2 hours!!!! What?! Have wept tears of joy. Is it the gaviscone already? Consultanat said to pet him sleep in car seat for now (meeting strawbs tmrw to get wedges instead though). I mean 3 1/2 hours! I havent slept that long since february befor his birth. His little face looks less strained as well. Is it a one off i wonder? C.
