  1. Just back from a week in Ireland and observing shopping habits around me I can't say I saw a rise in heavier plastic bags Quick question to my family in Cork backs this up I did see a lot of cardboard boxes and brown paper bags tho - this strikes me as aesthetically better if nothing else Does it help combat global warming? Even if proven to have effectively zero contribution, people who don't use plastic bags on principle are informing the powers that be (govt, suppliers, supermarkets) that behaviour can be changed if only leadership grasped the nettle on some of the bigger issues No doubt it is posturing by some people but so what?
  2. if keith floyd were alive today and participating in this thread about anyone else would he a) be more likely to side with *bob* b) be more likely to side with mick mac My guess is a) I don't see anyone disrespecting the Floyd btw
  3. Quids makes his play for The Chair Which wouldn't be a bad idea actually
  4. Oh amen to that as well Keef Nemesis/Gradius (esp 5) is fantastic but hard, whereas r-Type (which I finished back in the day) seems genuinely physically impossible after Level 3 now...
  5. oh Amen to that EDKiwi! Best thing is to forget the habit of perfecting each course and just get to the end using a bazillion checkpoints. Keep doing that and by the time you get to Hard, Medium seems very doable... and so on or at least that's what I'm told - I still like shaving nanoseconds off the easy courses. And by "enjoy", I of course mean scaring the neighbours, breaking pads, and swearing like the guy who writes Arseblog Looking forward to your Geometry Wars scores too (you mean the follow up don't you, not the original?) I played the original last night and was struck by how basic it looks compared to 2, and how after playing for what seemed like forever I only had 100k
  6. Arguably, Tony, arguably
  7. I see the Onion has had a good stab at a few of my records on Trials HD - that's the next few evenings sorted out then....

  15. I nearly agreed with this and then thought "hang on a sec, WAR is ok but drugdealing isn't???" Maybe them terrrrrrists are on to something
  16. the worst argument for anything. Ever Is there any vile practice which couldn't be excused by someone using that argument? "Well obviously I stand to profit by selling your 9 year old drugs, but trust me, better I do it than the toerags from the next estate. Alls fair in love and war. I'm just a businessman etc etc"
  17. I still look as much as I used to - and have supplied a few bits and pieces in the process No point saying "I WOULD help people out but am a bit lazy so won't click on the section called HelpingPeopleOut" Do it or don't, but don't blame others (in case that sounds harsh, I would say that I appear to be in the minority, not you, judging by posts on other threads cora)

  21. Kford. That link is worthless as it us very dodgy assertions by the lib dems. But even if it were true how much did conductors cost and what is the net loss really??
