  1. Mick Mac is spot on re: prices and timeslots from when I last played at Dulwich. I was dissapointed by the course itself however Still - with the weather improving perhaps a midweek game at some point?
  2. nothing wrong with Yentob's Cracked Actor
  3. Keef - do you even use the forum???????? The joy of the software is it doesn't look too "forumy" Texting and phone calls = too obviously not working! PM & IM = required work applications *cough* And IM leads to much more natural, free-flowing conversation
  4. Well, one advatage would be the rest if us would be spared reading it Can't say I've had any slowdown using any of the IM apps on Vista - why don't forumites just agree which one to use and go with that?
  5. Pedant's corner writes: fixed that for you PR as I don't recall you predicting it ;-)
  6. Absolutely keef Nothing inherently wrong with wings - although cheap and nasty broiler chickens will just give a fatty, watery wing Gotta be spicy tho
  7. General ED Issues v The Lounge sorry Admin Anyone know what's lined up for the Woolwich site?
  8. long thread about it already in the lounge Andy http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,247728
  9. don't forget Louisa's comments on anothr thread You see? The class system is being imposed on her agaisnt her will - she isn't doing anything to perpetuate it Other things there isn't really any difference in, and only deluded middle class people are happy to pay more for presumably include Those own brand lagers which cost 4 for 99p versus (say) Budvar Cheap, over-sugared and flavour enhanced wines versus realistically priced good wine Galtee cheese versus any of the artisan ones found in, oooohm pick a deli Greggs Saus.. oh we've done that one etc etc
  10. Bugger. Ive only gone and fallen asleep and woken up in 1952 again. Louisa. You are plain barking if you can not tell the difference. This is not an opinion. Do a straw poll of any group outside your own cowed circle
  11. Trailer for modern warfare 2 out today people
  12. man walks into a bar no-one knows who he is man starts slagging 2 other bars off agenda?
  13. I read it same way quids. .
  14. Given what I have read on other sites today I think it's safe to say you won't be held responsible if I suspect it's Final Fantasy VII Shu? Intriguing that you are in some way involved, but Squenix haven't got the best record of revisiting previous sagas have they? Everyone wants a Hi Def remake - whether they would actually like it if such a thing happened I don't know
  15. Yep _ i read it originally too DD and, for other reasons, rolled my eyes and wished it hadn't been posted. But in the overall context (complaining about dumbing down of food chain) I got the fact that they weren't joking. I expect you are correct that if you pass it along to the police they would take a dim view of it, but as I say in the context I "got it" The fact that the same poster was also clumsy in another thread saying what they wanted int he old Peckham eXperiment locations seems to have really gotten under your skin and I can see why. But given archic's overall postings i would say they seem to have erred rather than been malicious
  16. dulwichdoll - come on. I'm in agreement that it's not on to incite damage but even given that, the poster isn't really suggesting anythingof the sort. Ok they haven't apologised but it's clear they weren't serious And references to next weeks predicted damages are coming from teh police themselves - again he/she 's not advocating it
  17. I left Ireland because back then (mid 80s) everyone did. No jobs to stay for. No prospects. I came to England because I didn'thave enough money to get any further. I found the first several years in the county abysmal. Not worse than what I had left necessarily but differently abysmal. But I was making my way. Since approx 1992 I started to get things in order (as 20 somethings do) and by now I not only have all of my friends here, but I have spent longer in this country than my native. I wouldn't take UK citizenship (largely because of the whole monarchy "thing" but I'm not hung up on being "Oirish" eeder) - as I have previously stated, where my parents had sex and gave birth is arbitrary to the point of laughable But of the things I like about this country, some include It's a small place but there is still plenty of differences geographically and culturally across the country. I like travelling around here Culturally the country is second to none IMO.Be it music, comedy, theatre - we get more here than anywhere else I've been to The diversity of the population in London is extraordinary (a cliched view maybe but no less true for that) There is less homgenity to the thinking here than I find elsewhere. Discussing political views for example with people in Hong Kong or New York I can meet very intelligent people but they subscribe to a very orthodox line. Even amongst Guardian readers in this country I find less agreement. I could live elsewhere, and may yet do so (for experience rather than any discontent with here) but this is home
  18. Some fair points MM on oa precautionary angle, and generally I am of a less cautionary bent. But on this one I'm afraid we will disagree And I'm not going to be convinced by a geezer (Dickie Lindzen) who thinks active, never mind passive smoking and attendant risks are overstated. Especially one who may well have links to the oil companies
  19. so not only are they thieving but they are opportunistic, lazy thieves! See if these figures are about right then I see no problem with the "other end" but the Goose Green end is a bit wrong. You don't want more sanctions and what not but if people can't control themselves.
  20. so where are we on the stats - from 0% to 100% how many are remaining?
  21. Just for clarity - I'm not saying Earth Hour is worthwhile. My arguments so far have been on the "something needs to be done" side, but this isn't going to be one of them
  22. if you people don't record BBC2 next Monday I will hunt you down...
  23. taped it - not watched it yet. I find it all to easy to picture the section which led to that punchline tho..
