  1. really bignumber5? Tony Blair, faith and Iraq?
  2. bon3yard Bioshock wasn't perfect and I found the combat very wanting compared to Halo for example - but I know what you mean. The execution of the denouement was something I haven't yet experienced in videogames and was a highlight of 2007 gaming for me Now, would you KINDLY..........
  3. if you will raise a talented generation of footballers in an area of London dominated by bookies then they will f*** off to money orientated teams.. * ahem *
  4. stevet if 13 years counts as "recently" then yes..
  5. can you imagine it? fair result today I would say - we didn't lose the league because of THIS result - we lost it over several games in the last 6 weeks. I'm still bothered by the meekness of our displays mind you
  6. ooh I didn't say I don't like it - I'm very much enjoying it. And because I have heard many people talk about the climax being so good I will be finishing it... But the review above is hilarious (he destroys other games I like too - but in a witty and stylish way) The length and clunkiness of the dialogue CAN be a bit trying tho' can't it?
  7. if I say I don't feel to rough today does that mean it's going to kick in later? *worries* Great night and great to see so many new people but so many people I wanted to speak to and never got around to annaj - don't worry Lady MacGabhann says you were lovely and not at all annoying
  8. this is shaping up to be a busy one people - see you there at some point
  9. you were quite proud of that when you wrote it Piers!
  10. david_carnell: I find that quite endearing
  11. this one is a contender for the "threads that I thought were started by Azul just because of the way they were worded" competition
  12. tickets go on sale this Sunday - usually a stressful morning but this year... I'm not going Is anyone?
  13. another shudder of recognition!
  14. Not sure about the rainbow drinks but he'll fit right in tonight - plenty of Sheffield connections amongst the forumites
  15. This could end up being a resurrection of the Enemies of Reason thread Say what you will about the CoE but at least they have tried hard to take religion out of things and reduce it to mumbling in cold buildings I grew up in a country where the church had a massive part in government policy and even as a wee lad already indoctrinated into becoming an altar boy I could see that was a Bad Thing. I shudder at the memory. People should be free from religious persecution - just as we don't go around attacking people for still believing in Santa Claus. But should religion have input into government policies? In a word.. no
  16. PGC - hopefully you played that comment as straight as I played mine ;-) I passed it yesterday about 6:30 ish and it was shut but had a big "what's on in March" poster up - I guess it could just be open late evenings at the weekends?
  17. they should have turned it into a bookies..
  18. he has always done God hasn't he? I wouldn't say it was a surprise...
  19. see you there moos mlteenie - Castle is on corner of Goodrich and Crystal Palace Road
  20. keef - genuinely no-one you know if that's what you mean
  21. Keef - re: Sunrise/Sunset - this time "most people" really does mean most other people I still retain massive fondness for the original. That sort of night has always been my favourite (ok the train and Vienna may not happen that often - but the whole walking/talking/andtherest in teh wee small hours...) Looking back objectively yeah they are a bit precious - but I'd rather that than the opposite I did think the sequel enhanced the original tho' - so we differ there
  22. Good shout on Julie Delpy, Keef (although most people who watch those movies prefer the older versions of the characters)
  23. way to calm the situation there Jah.. ;-)
  24. I'm Castling first and aim to be CPT by 8:30 ish
