  1. ::o when did I use "your" instead of "you're"??? Only instance of "your" on here is in the thread title which uses it correctly (I think anyway...)
  2. freddy forsythe - THAT bastion of common sense
  3. Dear God but prominent threads drop off the front page quickly these days.. I thought Mike Paeleologous (sp) had mention "In Bruges" on here as he was going to see it Fri night I saw it yesterday and absolutely loved it - was tempted to pop along to watch it again today In Bruges trailer
  4. ok - so this was the last weekend - but they are open until Thursday night - I therefore propose one last hurrah on Wednesday night* - is anyone with me???? As many Inside 72 forumites as we can muster - names please.. * I would do Thursday but the legendary Brendon Burns is doing a show at the last night of gutrocking upstairs at EDT. I urge everyone who can to come along to that too PS - inside 72 is set to be a wine bar - another branch of somewhere already extant in Clapham and elsewhere -
  5. long may she reign, quids
  6. I would be interested in the source of that. Several shops just further up would be well in trouble and I would be mightily hacked off. For what it's worth I think karter is right tho'
  7. 11782 people with my name common as
  8. Simon - why you no come to drinks? Some diamond conversations waiting to happen
  9. quids It's not that you're wrong - it's just so often the worst possible scenario in the worst possible light with the most sneering attitude possible The Warehouse is not the most secure or viable of propositions - but it MIGHT just be fine. But which attitide is more likely to assist it's success? Your's might be more realistic but another word would be fatalistic. If people want it to succeed it doesn't make them "stepford" clones FFS.
  10. pongo don't fight it. he's like that all the time. anyone who isn't is a stepford clone. stands to reason
  11. mlteenie - I shall endeavour to burn some of my suggestions for you. Although Mrs mlteenie would probably warn you not to hold your breath....
  12. Ludlow Thomson - the agent with even more annoying and ugly cars than Foxtons
  13. the new Portishead album sounds like a good 'un Nine Horses - Snow Born Sorrow .. is a wonderful album You have the Kraftwerk live CD? good stuff there too More challenging - Scott Walker's Tilt - loathed by many but one of my favourite albums More accessible - Dave Gahan's solo albums are decent But to pick just one - Buddah of Suburbia soundtrack by Bowie - not quite a soundtrack but one or two lovely acoustic numbers with 8 electronic/ambient pieces... worth seeking out
  14. I've been twice - on Monday nights mind (they had (have?) a Monday night club there)) Much busier than I thought it would be I would get earlyish to get a seat - Who is on tomorrow night? hang on... http://www.chortle.co.uk/venues/16/london_central/1242/tattershall_castle not the most stellar line-up - next weeks is much better. That said I say not-stellar because I haven't seen many of tomorrow's acts so it could be a blinder... you'll have a grand night sure...
  15. Keef has lent me Tell NoOne and I really want to get started on it but have been ploughing through some library books - must start that this weekend
  16. sorry to hear that UC - I've only been along to the Warehouse 3 or 4 times and can see it improving all the time - always good to have a chat with you when I stopped by
  17. That one has always puzzled me David - but work is work and needs grunt power whereas cooking is a skill and needs leadership maybe?
  18. if you are with first direct I can't advise strongly enough the text service - getting daily updates really helps you keep an eye on any dodgy activity
  19. a poor showing from the Spic'n'Micks team last night (Mockney, myself + 2 non-forumites) at Hoopers quiz We scraped a 3rd... was anyone else who frequents the forum there ?
  20. In the (not quite classic but very funny) film Idiocracy, Starbucks (proper name, with proper logo etc) has become a full on "massge-parlour" chain offering handjob with your latt? How and why they let that pass I have no idea...
  21. If this double-whammy isn't quite under-rated it's certainly underutilised - and I belive one of th enext curry club nights is aiming to do just those things...
  22. so I have good company and alcohol already? ah but.... weather is a must surely?
  23. to resurrect this thread (due to another resurrected thread)... I. just. don't. get.... cricket you can sit and explain from now until.... well the end of all time but no. There's a boat that left me on the island
