  1. That story, whilst true, has been recycled by a number of papers since the event months ago, secifically to stir up fear Come on Louisa, you telling me people haven't been killed/attacked by other drivers in road-rage incidents?
  2. LadyG - I'm not 100% certain of being there - about 85% maybe but of COURSE I will save you a seat (although I ill be trying to take part in the quiz as well.....)
  3. Mark has corrected a spelling mistake and ruined my already extremely unfunny post
  4. I lived in london for 2 years back in 1990 and did not get on with it at all. Lived in devon for 6 years after that and mostly loved it but realised i craved the buzz of a real city. .havent looked back since
  5. I still like . "go away and shite". . Meaning bugger off
  6. You mean someone still uses the archaic computer language forth ? And bases a personality on it. ?
  7. Ah thanks wee quinnie. . Im undecided about ordering them. Nostalgia aint what it used to be. Plus. . Trying to kick the crisp habit. Im not getting any smaller. . spring onion however = well lush pickled onion = the opposite of that !
  8. I saw the name as a tribute to britainr euro vision entry some years back. Wee tina g. in any case twas good to meet you too and glad you enjoyed the evening. They are always good craic even if you dont meet everyone . where did you move from?
  9. I have actually thought about this several times in the past. Having lived in many a place - rural and urban Ireland, rural and urban Devon, all 4 corners of London, not to mention (cough) 3 years in Swindon (why Lord why!) I can honestly say that if I had a couple of million for a bigger place (and do I need a bigger place or what) I would try and buy it within a 50 yard radius of where I am already (Upper East Side) But the question is more will I live in UK/London forever? Not sure but as long as I am here I can't see myself leaving ED...
  10. how's THAT working out for you? ;-)
  11. couple of chippies across the road however.. That's my plan anyway
  12. He was very good and his post match interview was rather pleasant and gracious as well - unlike his whining boss
  13. G&B have one or two Corsican wines too - very fond memories of Corsica so I pick one up from time to time To have with a nice home-made burger obviously
  14. It was quite a biggie - lots of people turned up with several first-timers We were very tardy in leaving however..... :-$
  15. before I read your post in the burger thread, I should reply to this one Louisa as we agree 100% Did you turn up on Friday to the drinks?
  16. There is indeed a hige difference - but I still find both underwhelming now. Back in the day my preference was... well I'm a Cork man so you can guess
  17. I used to say the same polly. . Not sure the buns are the best tho
  18. Only if you buy into the idea of tribalism anyway. Being irish, caribbean, english or russian confers nothing except an idea of where your parents might have had sex. Far better to let people judge you on. . . Ooh i dunno. . Ones actions? a trivial example. . . i long held the belief that taytos were a superior crisp. Just because i was irish. And abroad. Not only was i wrong i was argumentative about such a pointless thing!
  19. Thats the problem with us irish. . We all sound the same. . i quite fancy popping along for one if only to meet some people who feel too shy to attend a bigger do I dont think the gay drinks evening is exclusive as such. . Consider it a theme rather than an invite and the Idea of a ginger left handed evening doesnt sound so implausible
  20. Nothing apologise for. . Twas time it was lounged anyway as the main event was over. shame i missed keef today tho on topic again. . I popped into the plough this afternoon and spoke to manager to apologise for our tardiness in leaving on fri. She was very good on the night and very good today. Said she enjoyed it and hoped we did too. with the acoustic afternoons imminent im warming to the plough more and more
  21. Sounds like fun tho anna. I can stop refreshing my phone browser now and wailing after arsenal finally turned things around!
  22. Didnt know the fht showed football. . Thanks for the tip emery. I watched second half in cpt and it was a perfect start to a great day

  24. What a complete arse the cloak is. . seriously
  25. Good work sir to get them up relatively soon. . i thoroughly enjoyed last night and i regret only that with so many people there isnt time to speak properly with everyone i thought that they handled our tardiness in leaving with good grace as well considering they are a chain neighbourhood pub. . but the big question remains. . Was louisa there?
