  1. Get in touch with Piplings in Forest Hill, they are about to open an ED branch I understand
  2. The 2010/2011 Winter babies club were thinking of having drinks that night, so we will tag along too if that is ok? We will probably be around 6 x
  3. Thursdays good for me too, except this week :(
  4. Mine is carols too, particularly Once in Royal David's City. Blubbed through most of last year's christingle service at St Johns - pretty embarrassing but in my defence was 8 months pregnant!
  5. Please can I join in, would love a glass of vino (or two)!
  6. Hi Kirsten Thanks for the tip, might try and squeeze in a baby free trip to Selfridges at the weekend. Definitely long overdue! Victoria x
  7. Oooh thanks Saffron didn't realise you could get spanx tights, may be the way forward!
  8. I am off to a wedding in 2 weeks time and, while I can now fit into the dress I was planning to wear (hooray!), my post baby tummy could do with a little bit of, ahem, support. Could anybody recommend a really good pair of 'suck it all in' tights? I have some spanx but hate wearing them under tights, so something built in to a pair of tights would be better. Oh, and if they could sort out the bum and thighs too then all the better! Am I looking for the impossible??
  9. My friend's daughter has a fandango, which I think is great, but it just seemed weird with regards to my own daughter, so we settled on lady bits. There is a great chapter on this very subject in Caitlin Moran's book 'Bow to be a Woman' which I highly recommend
  10. I have loads of Swiss or rainbow chard, would love beans
  11. Hi everyone My son left three small die cast emergency vehicles (fire engine, police van, ambulance) in or around the enclosed picnic area in Peckham Rye Park on Saturday morning. On the off chance you picked them up and handed them in anywhere, please let me know. Thanks!
  12. We did this with our 3.5 year old and 5 month old baby and I was dreading it but it was absolutely fine. Bathed baby first and I bf her while toddler was in the bath. Put her down while he was having quiet stories and songs. They were both so knackered by holiday fun and being out in the sun and fresh air all day, they were both out like a light. Baby was still having a night feed, and this was no problem either as toddler just slept through it. Good luck and have a lovely holiday.
  13. We had the passage from Captain Corelli's Mandolin, where the father talks to his daughter about love http://www.itakeyou.co.uk/wedding-ideas/wedding-readings-poems/captain-corelli's-mandolin.htm
  14. Can also highly recommend Jill Dye. I would not have got to where I am (6months) without her helP and support.
  15. I am surprised by the comments re service as have never had anything but good service there. I was in there today with my baby (admit I have not been in there with toddler as well) and one waitress in particular was really friendly and helpful and made a huge fuss of my baby. I agree the food can be a bit hit and miss, but today the jacket potato and salad I had (granted not very exciting but can he crap) was lovely.
  16. I have my eye on Caitlin Moran's How to be a Woman. I think she is very funny
  17. One Day by David Nicholls Time Travellers Wife by Audrey Niffenegger The Secret History by Donna Tart The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini (preferred the latter personally)
  18. I think night terrors affect toddlers, not young babies, but might be wrong. Totally sympathise as we are going through a similar patch with out 20 week old. I have so far put it down to teeth, but it is interesting to read other theories, particularly wonder week 19.
  19. When I lived in Greece with no air conditioning, the ice in front of the fan trick was the only thing that worked. Freeze an ice cream tub full, then it melts slowly during the night. Ice cubes melt too quickly.
  20. In a civilised house, the phrase, "Mummy, I kicked poo" would not be heard...
  21. Thanks for all the replies. Fuschia that would be fabulous as one less thing to have to do today along with all the packing! Will PM address.
  22. They have run out of size small and we go on hols crack of dawn tomorrow!
  23. We tried it for a short period with new baby (now 4 months) but it didn't seem to make any difference, she woke up at the same times as she had done before we started the dream feed. I have heard though that it is not effective until after around 4 months when their feeding and sleep patterns have settled down, so might give it another try. I found bf dreamfeeding slow and frustrating, so expressed and used a bottle but expressing is obv a pain.
