  1. Do you really want to spend all day selling spoonfuls of toothpaste and single tabs to OAPs out of a back street corner shop?
  2. I dunno what's got into you recently Domi... it's all rant rant rant. SMG compares you with Lenk, but at least he shows flashes of humour at times through his "grumpy cynic" persona.
  3. And the 90p sandwiches you can buy in the newsagents near the station.
  4. Oh yeah, didn't see your earlier post. But... "soft lad"?? Que?

While plenty of blokes get into scraps all the time and lots of them get away with it, I do know (and know of) guys who have been charged because they've got into fights. So I don't agree that it wouldn't have been taken to court if he wasn't famous. > However, it still > doesn't sit right with me, that he can basically > get away with punching someone, whilst 7 other > blokes are going to have to "take the fall" for > him. Yep... how Gerrard could possibly be less guilty than his mates is beyond me. If anything, he seemed like the instigator.
  6. Boy George could be captivating at time, look where that got him.
  7. Anything manufactured by "Bobby's" and bought in Budgens, Costcutters, petrol stations, corner shops, etc is pure, pure rot.
  8. Can't believe a man can get caught on video throwing punches at someone without getting charged. Since when was "I thought he might hit me so we beat him up" a reasonable defence? He obviously had some good legal guys.

Shock horror, with tax payers money, blah blah.
  10. What happens when we run out of fuels and there's no more electricity? What happens when energy companies go bankrupt and they can't afford to fix their 3 billion North Sea wind turbines? What happens when sea levels rise and all our homes are underwater, and the only survivors are living a tribal existence on high ground? What happens when the world is gripped by a virus turning us all into zombies? What happens when the cats and dogs decide to rebel?

  12. SMG, there used to be a time when you'd give people benefit of the doubt. You've changed, man...
  13. Beardy, I'm no fan of the bus. But I don't think your points hold water. Essentially London has a very old infrastructure, including narrow, twisting roads which were never designed for the current volume of traffic, let alone bus lanes. Similarly, bus stops are in the road because pavements and roads are narrow, there's nowhere else to put them.
  14. I thought it was going to be a Selfridges?
  15. Thinking of bringing your Shamen records along, lenky? Show the kids how it's done!

  18. Surely your no-claims bonus is not affected if you can prove it's the other guy's fault, and his insurance to pays up? Hence the need for witnesses.
  19. "Touch Me" is not an appropriate song to mention on this thread. Neither is "Can I Touch You There" by Michael Bolton.

  21. I love it when Sainsburys have a beer bargain bin. Individual cans and bottles of Carlsberg, Fosters, etc which have been separated from the multi-packs. Labels have come off the bottles, cans are dented, and a quarter of the contents might even be curiously missing. But they're only 20p each, so I can't help filling the trolley. It's like I revert to studenthood.
  22. I think they're good buses, with lots of standing space inside. Quick/easy to get on and off too. But they're just not suited to London's roads with tight junctions, narrow roads, roundabouts, etc.
  23. Interesting night of boxing. It was a good victory by Khan... to be fair, Kotelnik is not one of the top guys around that weight and the fight always looked winnable... but he was a legit champion nonetheless. People have been talking about a Khan/Hatton fight for a while, and while Khan is starting to look like the sharper, quicker, and more skillful of the two, I still think Hatton would overwhelm him. (meanwhile, did anyone notice that Breidis Prescott - the guy who KOd Khan in one round - just got beaten?) A good show from Nathan Cleverly over at the York Hall, who looks set for big things. Easy victory for Tyson Fury, but his opponent was just another tomato can. Will be interesting to see what he can do against John McDermott in a couple of months. Bad, bad night for Enzo Maccarinelli, who looks finished - but looking back at it, you could question whether he was ever really world class. Also a bad show from Thaxton tonight, another career which looks all but over.
