Craig Charles presented it like an episode of robot wars, which didn't help.

UK Foreign policy going back way before Blair and the like is partly responsible for the sh*t storm in the middle east. To say the UK has in some way been like a beneficent uncle trying to correct a wayward nephew is utterly wrong, especially as it is their policy that has contributed to this mess. Other European countries have also contributed in some shape of form, as has the USofA. I don't accept the well meaning concept, most foreign policy is usually about what's best for us not those living in the country effected by it.

Many of the actions taken by "Western Powers" were taken purely out of self interest rather than anything else

Let's not forget that much of the situation in the middle east lays at the door of many of the Western powers, UK included.

Indeed and as a result losing any moral high ground they aspire to. Some of their actions have been no better than those by terrorist organisations they denounce. But while they continue to have the support of the world police force, aka USA, they'll continue in the same vein.

I find it odd that, like Saville, these allegations seem to go go back years and have only been pursued by the victims now. That is probably why some perhaps feel the lure of compo may have been the main motivating factor. I don't say thse people haven't been abused, just need to clearly understand why the huge delay in bringing matters to court.

It paid for a nice plate of fish and chips down in Hasting where the fair was being held and a few jazz/fusion albums that some guy was selling for ?3 and ?4 each. Even though it pissed down all the way home I was well happy.

Silly me. But you've only brought this up BECAUSE of the Suarez incident, you wouldn't have given it a second thought had that NOT happened. Yes it's awful yes it's despicabe, but so is Chewy Suarez. Better?

Going to a record fair and finding a record worth ?60 in pristine condition and paying 50p for it, taking it 50 feet to a dealer mate stalled out at the same fair, and he says "I've been after a copy of that for years, will you take ?50?". Oh go on then.

No outrage this time? Sorry did this hapen on the pitch while millions of viewers looked on? And did it happen on 3 ocassions? Regardless of who the little rat plays for he's out of order and he's been punished. Instead of griping about it how about moving on, or better still admitting he's a wrong un rather than trying to delect the flack on to another side issue? How many times must Liverpool and it's fans try to defend the indefensible, the T shirts issued for the Evra affair were enbarrassing, and this is going the same way. He's probably off to Barca anyway, we'll see if you feel the same way if does bugger off to Spain.

Well said quids, the man is a head case and needs help, on the basis that he's done the same thing on 3 occasions, I think that is apparent to all.

What we need, and I've said it many times before, is a complete culture change a new mind set, and more money and resources dedicated to grass roots level football coupled with a focus on getting kids to learn about touch, technique, skill and reading the game. Too often the cry heard while standing on the touch line at kids 7 aside games is "get stuck in", as soon asI hear that, I walk away. It's as if we determined NOT to evolve and to extract all elements of enjoyment from the game at a very early stage. What do we expect from those kids as they grow up, the new crop of Ronaldos, Henry's, Van Bastens, Bergkamps et al. Fat chance. Until there is a radical shake up and the fat cats of the prem filter some money to where its most needed, it will be the same old same old.

I'm sure Barca and Real are thinking twice now, or see it as good way of getting him on the cheap because they will argue his temprament is suspect and may face being without out him for a third of the season as a result of daft behaviour on the pitch. And by the way Otta, a Liverpool season ticket holder at work said to me today Suarez should be banned from ALL football for a year. Not all Liverpool fans think it's just a silly thing to brush aside. That's 3 times he's biten an opponent. The guy is clearly deranged.

Otta Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > What about headbutts? I totally disagree with maxxi, and why he's mentioned Englands showing at the WC in this context is beyond me. Nor do I understand the comparing what pundits have done in the past to his behaviour. Regardless of their behaviour, Suarez is out of order. Put whtaever others have doen to one side for the moment, we are discussing Suarez here. Not what pundits may or may not have done in their careers, that's a seperate discussion. Oh and Pardew "there's too many foreigners in the league" was/is and always will be a fcuk wit.

The question is what to do with such a guy, clearly bans don't work.
