  1. I am not sure Beckham would have gone anyway.....But we should all pray that Rooney remains uninjured!
  2. I am surprised you do not recall the classic "Leeds leads", sung by Ronnie Hilton (he of mice in windmills in old Amsterdam fame!):))
  3. "Go To Work On An Egg" was thought up by Fay Weldon

  17. But Arsenal are looking a far better bet than they were, say, a month ago. They just need to hold it together (and Fabregas fit!) for a mere 9 games now... Of the three managers involved I'd much rather Wenger won it!
  18. Oh go on, you know you want to really....B)
  19. VSO was something a few friends of mine did back in the 60's. You could do it, during or after "A" levels, as well as during a university course. Other friends got hard-working holiday jobs then clubbed together to buy a cheap VW camper which they drove across Europe to Moscow and back (when the Iron Curtain was still in place!). I am obviously out of touch with the zeitgeist - which I am not even sure I can even spell - but I find this whole idea of gap year companies quite extraordinary! Part of the fun should be organising it all yourself!
  20. Offside rule - never forget the magic words "when the ball is played"!
  21. ...but a pub called the "Dulwich Wodehouse" is only going to cause confusion! B)
